Vendors Are Scaring Me

I'm a bit concerned with some of the people involved in my wedding.

They are not people affiliated with this site, but like, my photo package/limo place - last year they claimed to have lost my signed contract, I had to refax it. No biggie. Yesterday I left them a VM, they said they got a wrong number when they called me back - I was curious as to why they didn't call me back. Today they promised to email me an updated contract cuz I added a video - they never did.

I'm helping plan my shower, I know that sounds awful - but I live out of state and my mom needed help since she doesn't know my area. The woman/catering head we dealt with SHREDDED the check/deposit by mistake. Mom had to send her another one which she took forever to cash.

Things like this freak me out - are these people gonna drop the ball on my shower and wedding day?

Anyone shopping for vendors, here's what I wish I followed - stick with as many house vendors (from your wedding hall or someone who comes highly recommended), so far our house vendors been the most responsive :( i cheaped out on our photos and i'm so sure i'm going to regret it.

I would be nervous too. Did you check the Better Business Bureau? Maybe you could get your FH on the phone with them too. I hate to say it but sometimes people respect a male voice more than a female one....(I know... ).
Depending on how much $$ you put down... I would possibly check other vendors that your RH recommends (there's a reason they are rec. by your RH :). Even if you lose a little bit, it's worth it for peace of mind IMO. Good luck!!!

I actually checked them out and they have been in biz for a while and didn't have any outstanding issues, etc. Maybe I'm just getting too nervous - funny you should say to have FH call them. I told him this at dinner and he was like, 'what would that do?' duh! i agree w/you!
