Venetian Yacht Club

I am currently booked for my wedding August 28th, 2008 at the Venetian Yacht Club. When my fiance first went to view the place following renovations it was beautiful and everything we had hoped for in our wedding. The staff was amazing as well (with quick response to all my calls and e-mails). Since we signed the contract I have gone back to visit the VYC to show my father as well as discuss some questions I had. Much to my disappointment I found the place as clean what we origionally saw. I have also left several messages for my catering manager who has not returned my call. One time I had to show up in person and now I am still waiting for a call back a week later after leaving 3 messages. I find it impossible to get intouch w/ the man. Needless to say I am totally freeking out!!!!! I would greatly appreciate any feedback people could provide! Has anyone else had problems w/ the VYC? Should I take a loss on the deposit and find a new venue? Should I try switching to a different catering manager? Help Please!!!!!! What do I do????

THE MEETING 09/16/2007: SO I WENT TO THE VYC LAST NIGHT AND BILL WAS SO APOLOGETIC AND SINCERE ABOUT THE WHOLE SITUATION! HE WAS ADAMANT ABOUT CORRECTING THE COMMUNICATION PROBLEM!

I know it sux and that is not right that he isn't calling back but try not to worry. I went to a wedding there recently and it was gorgeous. Everything was clean and everything was amazing. I hope he calls you back because that is not very professional. I would def. discuss your concerns with him though once you get in touch with him.

I've only heard great things about VYC! I'm sure you'll be okay, but I would speak to someone else if you can't get in touch with him.

That must be so frustrating, I'm sorry! But I wouldn't worry too much yet!

Thanks for the support! As I had said origionally I have never heard anything but wonderful things! I am hoping maybe it has just been an off month. Bill has been wonderful up until this point. I hope I have not offended anyone!

call his supervisor. it will piss him off, but i bet he will return a phone call then. i hate when people change once they get your business. this is not a good sign for the future.

Is he on vacation? Ask the person who answers the phone why he isnt returning your calls.

I WAS TOLD HE IS WITH CLIENTS - BUT I AM GETTING SOME POSITIVE FEEDBACK ON THE VYC FROM OTHER VYC BRIDES AT LEAST.

I would def stay on top of them but keep in mind if you are not feeling secure....then don't hesitate to cancel. You are a year out and in suffolk county you have till 6 months before to get your money back less $100. Not so much to lose for peace of mind. I just went through this with another hall and believe me....I sleep alot better now!!

How much of a deposit have you given them already? I say if no one contacts you by next week. Dump them. A hall has to be on top of their clients and follow up with them constantly. I mean you are giving them thousands of dollars you have to be 100% sure with them bec god forbid they screw up your day. This goes for any hall

I haven't had any problems with them. I even went there a couple of times to show people the place and they had no problem taking the time to show the hall to a few friends of mine. Maybe you are just thinking to much about this. I'm sure everything will turn out great. If you still can't get it off your mind i would go down on a weekday when they are not too busy and talk to bill and ask him why he dosen't call you back. HTH. Good luck!!

I agree that they should be 100% on top of their stuff. If he is too busy to deal with you, he should have someone else contact you. Just to give you reassurance that you are still very important to them. I hope you hear from him soon!

THats awesome, but that shouldnt happen with any hall, bec communication bet the place and client is very important. I happy it all worked out

I ALSO WAS ABLE TO MEET DAISY WHO WAS VERY WARM, FRIENDLY AND VERY NICE! BILL WANTED TO ENSURE THAT IF I NEED TO CONTACT THEM AND HE IS UNAVAILABLE SHE WILL ALSO BE ABLE TO SERVE ME IN THE SAME MANNER AS HIM!

I AM SO EXCITED AND RELIEVED! I COULD NOT HAVE ASKED FOR THE MEETING TO PLAY OUT ANY BETTER! BILL REALLY MADE ME FEEL THAT MY DAY IS AS SPECIAL TO HIM AS IT IS TO ME! A BRIDE CAN'T ASK FOR MORE!
