VENETIAN YACHT CLUB--PLEASE READ IF THIS IS YOUR RH
Hi ladies,
So I saw a friend of mine who went to a party at VYC this past Saturday.
I wanted to put this post up NOT to upset anyone, but just to give you a heads up so that THIS does not happen TO YOU!!!!!!
I'm sure it was a one-time occurence because I've heard NOTHING but good things about the place, but better safe than sorry, here is what she told me:
COCKTAIL HOUR:
She said that although cocktail hour was set to start at 8, they wouldn't allow the partygoers in until 8:30. There was a party going on in the dining room where the CH was being held and for some reason, it ran over. Totally understandable but some people were waiting for over 2 hours there, so they were NOT happy.
She said food was great though!! She also said the filet mignon was incredible.
MAIN ROOM:
She said the main room was great BUT they told the couple that they would have 12 tops and instead there were 10 tops. SO, in order to make up for it, they brought in small cocktail tables and tacked them onto the 10 tops or placed them here and there--wherever they could.
She also said that they when they served bread, the waiters brought it to the table in a brown paper bag and took it o ut directly from there. Maybe this is some fancy way of serving warm bread or something though--I don't know.
Again, PLEASE do not take offense to this post, but just keep this in mind when meeting with them next time and definitely bring this stuff up so that they know you are aware and that it DOESN'T happen at your party!!!
Also, I'm SURE there are two sides to every story and maybe the couple who booked didn't communicate what they specifically wanted well enough either.
