anybody have any opinons on any of these venues? i'm having about 200 guests and wanted to avoid a 'typical' wedding. the venetian is great n definitely gives you the most for your money but is very catering hall-ish. the bourne mansion is so diffrent from the usual catering hall and so cool but pretty pricey considering the menu and not top shelp liquor.the cold spring country club has a more 'loungy' cocktail hour which i love but can't find any reviews about it. i would appreciate any opinions to help me make a decision

Re: venetian/bourne mansion/cold spring country club
I haven't attended weddings at any of the places you mentioned but I did visit the Venetian and eliminated them immediately from my search. Now this is just my opinion as I'm sure there are some girls who may love it but 1) you most likely will not be the only bride there and if its important for you to get personalized attention, yo may want to reconsider and 2) look closely at the carpets...not only are they ugly but they are stained and old. I called the banquet manager out on it and at first said it was the design but after I laughed in his face he agreed they were stained. I just felt it was very dirty. Even in the entrance way the frame around their sign was broken and thew desks were chipped. Perhaps I'm nit-picking (? Spelling) but I feel like even the tiniest details should be paid attention to and other RH do!
Like I said just MY opinion...take it or leave it. I don't want to insult you or anyone else you has chosen that place but I didn't just walk out, I ran!

Are you talking about the Venetian Yacht Club?
That was where I had my wedding. I was the day wedding and there was a wedding after mine. The only people I saw from the night wedding were a few folks down in the bridal suite when I went to settle the final bill with our BM (due to extra people showing up unexpectedly).
We loved the venue and felt we got the most for our $$$. The CH was great, the service was great, the food was wonderful and we had a spectacular view. We still get compliments today about our wedding from our guests.
To be honest, I didn't even look at the carpets, or the other items in the entry way. It wasn't even a thought in my mind. The rooms were beautiful, the linens and chairs were fine, and the menu was great. But to each their own.
FM if you would like more info.

I'm getting married at the Bourne in October... the food is amazing - the salmon stuffed with asparagus was the best salmon I have ever had.
You get a lot for the $$ and you also are getting married in a very unique spot.
I did not want a typicall catering hall... I needed high ceillings and no carpet...
I love the bourne

i'm getting married next october and I am so excited!
It is def a unique spot, having a site fee does ****, but we think its worth it.
The food is soooo amazing as lessing owns a bunch of restaurants.
I think it all depends on your vibe. The mansion is perfect for my old hollywood theme.
