I wouldnt say its normal but I also feel as if fmil isn't as interested in me or the wedding as I would hope. Kinda ***** but what can you do.

One thing that i have learned to date is that everyone in your life is not going to be excited about your wedding as much as you are. That's why I love this site, because most people generally care about your plans.

You are right that your FMIL should be more enthusiastic, but how is she otherwise?? Is she the type of person to get involved with things? Or do you think it's just the wedding she is not in to. Maybe she doesn't want to come across nosey or pushy? Why not bring up some things to her and see how she reacts.

Thanks for the replies ladies... I completely agree that not everyone is going to be excited about the wedding as I am. But I guess it's a lot of the other things that are beginning to get to me, like I've never been invited to her house. And the fact that she doesn't even ask about anything else in our lives. We bought a house in September, and she hasn't inquired about that either.... just weird.

She might feel like you are taking her son away from her and there for taking it out on you. Has you FI talked to his mother about this? If not he should. He should tell her that she (his mother) did a great job bring him up and out of this he found a great wife. He is always going to love her and that you both can be there when you need us.
THere is a lot more he can say, but he does have to talk to her if he didn't already. Then it is all up to her to love you as she loves her son.
