so people said that they would not buy engagement gifts or take anything seriously because i was the one that proposed

that makes me more mad then anything..not because im not getting gifts but because people dont think its for real..

i guess they are going to be alittle suprised when they get save the date cards in like 6 weeks

im over it..it just scares me because me..my sister..my mom and Fh mom and sister are coming up there in a week and a half to start booking and looking at plaes and all that..people better start taking me seriously

i just get nervous about people not being into it and not making my minimum come wedding day since 80% of the guests are out of town

Hopefully when they get your save the dates it will be a kick in their @ss and realize...oh sh!t we were messed up to not take them seriously!! I'm sure they will come...if not it's their loss!!

I'm sorry to hear that, but proposals go both ways...why does he have to be the one who proposes? He could have said no if he didnt want to get married, so its a two-way street. You both want to, so its none of their business how the proposal acutally occured therefore they should not judge. Don't worry about it and don't let it stress you out. Since you chose a less popular time of year, you can probably negotiate the minimum head count with CLM (I think thats where you booked, right?) They may be able to knock it down maybe 10 or more people and that would really make a difference if you are really nervous about being able to make it.
