So my church starts at 11:00 in the morning and father Todd said he would keep it short only a half hour ceremony. My RH is about a half hour away and that starts at 12:30. It ends at 6:30pm. I feel like I will be rushed around all morning and won't have time to take pics. I feel like I made a mistake in having an afternoon wedding. I'm going to have an afterparty to keep the party going but it's not the same. I wish that I could just bump the time back atleast two hours but I can't because they have to set up for the night weddings. This sux. Well thanks for listening to me. I'm just a little sad right now.

Re: Vent!!!
Dont stress it! I thought about the same thing and tried to add time to the reception and found out thats not possible because i have an afternoon wedding...
Try to take some pics before the ceremony to get some out of the way at least!

Re: Vent!!!
I know how you feel
We don't have alot of family in the US and so expect about 100 -110 people to attend. We also really wanted a venue on the beach. These two things combined made it really hard for us to book an evening wedding. I LOVE the place we're having the ceremony and reception at, but their min. is 150 people for evenings.
The ceremony is at 11:30 at the RH and the cocktail hour starts immediately after. Entire reception is from 12-5. Everyone is telling me that day weddings are just as much fun, etc. But, we know a LOT of people who like to party till the AM. I can't help feeling that people will be a bit reserved b/c the wedding is early.
SIGH..Oh well, I guess you can't win them all.

Re: Vent!!!
I have heard a 1000x over that people have just as much fun at afternoon weddings than evenings!!! I picked it b/c the date i wanted fell on a sunday and asking people to come to an evening wedding on a sunday (where theres no holiday on mond) would just be rediculous! I also wanted a whole casual feel to the wedding although afternoon can be casual or elegant so that really doesnt make a diff
I know the surf club b/c its right by me and it will be gorgeous!!!! dont 2nd guess yourself... I bet your guests will still be partying after its over and then maybe you can have some type of after party

Re: Vent!!!
I really wanted my ceremony even earlier at 10:00am this way I would have some more time to take pics but they told me at the church that they hold that spot for funerals

Re: Vent!!!
would you consider seeing your FI/DH before the ceremony and taking picture then?? our friends did this last september. they had 11 or 11:30 ceremony ( can't remember), but DH was in the BP and they all had to be there at 9 to take pictures before the ceremony. the bride and groom got some great shots of their first time seeing each other all dressed up- the photographer and video guy were able to set it up and make it special and get some really great shots. might be something to think about.... it means getting up earlier for hair and makeup, but might make the rest of the day less rushed...

Re: Vent!!!
It will all work out in the end. People will have just as much of a good time in the afternoon as they will in the evening. If you are worried about pictures and being rushed and DO NOT want to see you DH before, consider taking pics after your reception is over. Not sure if it will be dark by then but it will give you the opportunity to take some really gorgeous sunset or dusk pics

Re: Vent!!!
I would suggest taking pics before the ceremony .... or seeing if you can make your ceremony earlier?
