ARGH! Yesterday FH and I bumped into his grandmothers neighbor and friend. After a little chit chat the husband says ohh before you know it the wedding will be here to which the wife responds but 2 years is a long time and a lot can happen, why so long?
what i wanted to say was a. mind your business or b. if you want to pay for it then we will gladly get married next summer or c. if you wanna stay home you can save us $200!
but of course i politely said - well its expensive!
ARGH! Old people - why do they think they can say whatever they want!

We had to postpone from 10/31/09 to 10.30.10 because I got laid off. You would not believe the sh*t we have been getting. And since we are paying for it 100% ourselves no one seems to understand. I keep hearing oh you cancelled? Whats wrong? I keep telling people if you give me 30K we'll get married this Oct. We postponed dammit didnt cancel!

I got that reply from my FMIL! She doesnt want to help pay for the wedding since I am taking away her little prince, but then I get criticized for waiting. She also has brought up destination weddings and eloping. Im sorry if she doesnt want my family at my wedding- but I do!

2010 crasher I have gotten that same question... why so long? My ans is well FMIL is very ill, would like like to take care of her while we do all the wedding prep and fix up the upstairs apt?
i have also gotten from my family- 'you have been married befroe, why another wedding? Do like your brother and get married in Vegas!' I hate that one more. I am not my brother and FH has never been married and he wants to have a nice wedding.
People just dont know when to shut their mouths!

I know exactly how you feelll .. when we booked it was 2years and one month away! So many ppl are like questioning why we are waiting and just making remarks like ohh i wish it was next summerrr and the worst is when ppl throw in your face how they were able to do it in shorter amnt of timee buttt my FH and I are also paying everything by ourselvess... my mother is saving for my dress and thats all.. and when you actually sit down and think about everything.. the hall, dj, photos, video, flowers, favors, invites, limos, bridal party gifts!!!, ect.. it is AAAALOTTTT of money and most ppl are setting up and apt or house for the first time which is also a biggg expense. I just keep telling ppl that if they want to make a donation they can or else accept tha its two years away lol

IGNORE THEM! :) & I say right to their faces now.. 'If you can find someone who wants to make donations for it so we can have it earlier please by all means let me know!'..please I get 'shiz' all the time for it being so far away & on a thursday.. like mind ur own business people! we're lucky we can even have a wedding!
