Without getting too specific in case of lurkers, don’t people understand that I’m saving for a wedding that is 5 ½ months away, so I really can’t spend any $$ that I don’t need to?? It’s really not that I don’t want to, it’s that I LITERALLY CAN”T!!!!!!!

i also agree with this vent.
its really hard especially with the holidays. people just don't get it. no we can't spare any extra money. even penny that I make from know until the wedding is accounted for.

I'm with you there. I have a friend buggin' me to go to a bunch of concerts and I just can't do it. Not now. He's afraid that after I get married, I won't go to concerts with him anymore (we're longtime concert buddies)...I'm like oh hell no, once I'm married I won't have a wedding to pay for and then I CAN go to shows!!!
But from here until the wedding, I just can't do it! And the only people that understand are those that got married within the past few years.

I'm beginning to think that people don't care or don't realize that I'm not wealthy. I cut limits on Christmas gifts and I told many people you aren't getting anything from me bc I don't have the money. I am buying a house and paying for a wedding. The money just isn't there. Our families are the worst with this.

I totally agree with you!! People just don't think!! Weddings are expensive so they should be more mindful of this and not think that money grows on trees and you have all this loot to spend!! I definitely won't be giving anyone anything for x-mas, except my son of-course!!

Ugh I totally understand you. Christmas this year is killing me. FH's family just expects so much, meanwhile don't they know we are attempting to save for a wedding and a house. Ugh! It drives me nuts. They have the balls to make comments to us around Christmastime and birthdays about the gifts that we give to them.

Ughhh sooo annoying. We are only buying for immediate family and our limit is $25. FMIL already made a comment about how she wants this new mixer for her kitchen thats like over $200. Umm I don't think so lady
