First, I find out on Saturday as I go to pick up my e-pics that my photographer's store is closing and moving into the city. Then yesterday, I get the call from the salon where I bought my bridal gown to pick up my dress because THEY are closing at their specific location. So I am going to have to haul a** into the city whenever I want to meet with my photographer and decide on photos for the album, etc.....but even worse, NO idea who is going to do my alterations! I bought a very expensive sample dress with much beading that is 3 sizes too big. Any suggestions?

You said 'that location' was moving. Is there another location you can go to?

This happened to someone I know recently. She insisted that the bridal salon send the alterations person to her house, since she specified that she selected the salon based on convenience of location (they had a second store in the city). Maybe call the salon and explain that you chose them because of location and see if they can arrange to do fittings at your house????

Re: *** (Vent)
This was the only Long Island location - and I live in Suffolk County. Their next closest location is in the city. Technically I did choose their location out of convenience...- maybe I can ask for a discount seeing that I will be expending much more travel time and $ schlepping into the city for fittings. ...But I already bought the dress..they are not going to want to accommodate me. I should call my consultant - maybe she will do the right thing and make a call.
I highly doubt someone will come to my home in Suffolk from the city, but thanks for your advice!

If you want, FM me the name/location of the salon? It may be the one the girl I know is using and if it is there may be more of a chance they'd accommodate, if so... I don't remember the exact name off the top of my head but i would recognize it if I saw it and I remember what town it was. :) Hopefully you can work something out!

Re: *** (Vent)
Is it a priscilla dress? From manhasset? My daughter got a sample and we need to get it cleaned and then altered. and supposedly the salon will give us a list of alterations experts. They told me to call in a month. Maybe even if you didn't get it from manhasset they will give you the list? Or fm me your info and as soon as I get the info I will let you know, I also live in Suffolk . Best of luck ..but what a pain eh? It will all work out .
