why do people promise me the world and then give me nothing? my mother said she would pay for my favors, limos, toasting flutes, garter, unity candle, and so many other things and i haven't gotten a dime from her. i already bought my favors, and toasting flutes myself. whenever i ask her she tells me she doesnt have it and i have to wait til next month. this has been going on since before christmas. why, if i see something i like i have to wait a month or more to get it? my parents have money, it's not like there poor. they get me nothing. now i find out shes only giving me $500.00 for the limos, i bet she wont even give me that. so now me and fh have to come up with another $1000-$1500 for limos. i'm so upset, she did so much more for my sisters wedding. i just feel so unloved by my parents and it hurts me so much. this is their youngest child, their daughter who is getting married and they cant even be happy and help out a little.

It sucks but lots of us have to pay for it all. I guess in the end all we really have to depend on is ourselves and our guys....

I am so sorry you are feeling this way. Unfortunately, many brides today end up footing the bills with FI. It just sucks that she told you ahead of time she would help you out.

I totally understand what your going through, my parents had told me that they would help us out too...they never said for what though! Anyway months went by and I had a problem with my mother cause she wasn't coming with me to try on bridal gowns, anyway one day she came with me and I ended up really liking a dress, so she said if you love it...lets get it and she said don't worry me and your father want to buy your dress.. was so relieved that they actually were coming through on something, so maybe, your mother hasn't gotten around to it yet, but will help when the time does come! hang in there...planning a wedding is stressful and emotionally draining as well!!

I'm sorry! you are going through this!
But, the money does not correlate directly with love. It may be just the opposite, your mom Loves you so much, that she doesn't want to see you go, and it manifests itself in many different ways.
Also, it could simply be the 'excitement' wore off. I am sure its not an example of how much she loves you. She is your mother; and she loves you.

thank you all for your kind words. i wouldnt even be upset if she wasnt able to help out and just told me the truth. she tells me that shes paying for things and i hold off thinking the next month ill get it, but then i never do. so, i talked to my fh and he said, if you see something get it, if she gives you the money, good, if not, dont worry about it.
