Ok, I'm not totally serious about that title, but, MAN FH makes me SO MAD sometimes!!! I have had the worst week and we're supposed to leave work early today to drive up to NY (shower is tomorrow, among other things). I've been working late and forgot to gas up the car before I came home last night. So he had to do it this morning, poor thing. Apparently there was some big to-do at the gas station and because of that, and the fact it's raining cats and dogs, he felt the need to send me this ridiculously long email b1tching about the whole thing and basically blaming ME because I didn't fill up the G-D tank. Big friggin deal, I forgot, for ONCE. I'm ALWAYS the one who fills it up. And last night I raced to get home to have dinner with him because he ordered something and I didn't want it to get cold. I'm just so P-Od that he can't just do a simple thing like this without complaining. ARGHHHH.
Sorry, just had to get it off my chest.

our FHs should get their own board so they can vent about us when needed rather than take out their frustrations on us! have a great time at your shower!

Alison, I completely understand. It is always a morning fiasco with me and FH when traveling to NY. Just make him drive and you take a nice nap in the car!

'Why are you marrying him'-just click on your profile and see that cute picture of you two pop up. That should answer your question. As frustrating as it is to be the blame for his gas station drama, how many times has he undeservedly been the cause for something in your day, I know I've done it! Let it pass and focus on how amazing your day is going to be!

See that's the thing with men! We do so many things every single day, for then, for the house, for their families, and never complain! BUT if they all of a sudden need to be responsible for something that we usually take care of, all h e l l breaks loose!
Don’t even get me started on this topic!
Hang in there, he will get over it!

Re: Vent: Agh, why am I marrying him??
Thanks all. It's been a rough week; this was not the ending I had in mind. Hopefully once we're out of town we can calm down a bit. He's really bad in traffic though, so keep your fingers crossed for us! I am doing the 'no traffic on the Belt Parkway' dance. Ha.

Re: Vent: Agh, why am I marrying him??
no traffic on the belt on a Friday?!?????
which way do you go?
Get him some snacks and toys to play with in the car. It's amazing how we have to treat men like toddlers sometimes! I bought FH a gameboy for that exact reason! The best $70 I EVER spent!!!

Oh no, I KNOW there will be traffic...just hoping that on the offchance there won't be. We may take the BQE instead if the Belt is really jammed up.
I would bring toys but he's driving! And he never seems to use the Palm Pilot I bought him...even the games on it. For an engineer, his lack of gadgets like that amazes me.
Anyway, wish us luck and, Meghan, I'll see you tomorrow night hopefully!

What, he sent you a b$tchy email??? You should totally call the whole thing off.
Kidding.
Keith is the same way in the car. OMG, there have been a few times I wanted to get out on the Belt Parkway and walk back to Maryland.
Have fun at your shower. I can't wait to hear all about it

Re: Vent: Agh, why am I marrying him??
The streets?? All the way out to Commack??
The DC GTG as far as I know is next Sat, May 24, lunch in Old Town Alexandria. FM Anniegrl for the exact info...I'm sure she'll post something next week as a reminder, if we're still on. Are you a MD/DC/VA bride too??
Ok, I'm headed out in a few minutes. Wish us luck!!
Edited to say: FH just called to say he's leaving work to pick me up and apologized again for being such a pain in the patoot. And that he loves me. So I feel a little better now.

Re: Vent: Agh, why am I marrying him??
LOL, Meghan
Alison, I had my shower two weeks ago. Now, I need a house
I can't make it next week Don't throw things at me. I was planning on it, but the passing of my grandfather and Keith's grandfather last week has pushed my schedule off balance. I was supposed to go to LI this weekend, but now I have too much work to catch up on and the weekend of the 31st we have the service on LI for Keith's grandfather, so if I don't go home and find someone to do my hair next weekend, I will be doing it myself on my wedding day!

you need to treat them like they have a learning disability.
