Vent - And I Quote

so as a lot of you know, i am in south florida at med school right now, so my mom and sister are helping out with a LOT back on the island. anyway, we want to have The GCH menus mounted onto gold cardstock that matches the gold lion embelem on the menus, and so my mom and sister have been trying to find good cardstock. they decided to try out And I Quote located in port jeff bc we got our engagement party invites from them last year and everything was perfect.

so they go in there and one of the employees (not the owner) 'helped' them and showed them some gold cardstock. however, the gold was very brown and not so metallic, so my mom and sister were unsure. so when my mom said we want to match the gold to the gold already printed on the menu, the woman's response was, 'you know, it's just a freakin menu.' my mom and sister were SHOCKED. how do you talk to someone like that?? very odd, very obnoxious.

fyi: we did not use And I Quote for the wedding invites. we used mindy rosner (ahh i think her company is Stroke of the Pen but i haven't been dealing with her, as my mom has, so that may be a little off) and she's been wonderful. she does hand calligraphy for the addresses, too. we wanted to use someone who did semi-custom invites and so that's why we went to her and not And I Quote. i guess we made the right choice!

I dont get people- number one its business they should've been excited and number 2 you think its important and thats whats important...

RIGHT?!?!? i was pretty much appalled.

I mean really who says that especially if they talk about a specific item for your wedding. Obviously the menu color is important to you, coz if it wasn't you wouldn't be there trying to purchase a specific card stock.

UGH!!!
People just don't know how to run a business.
To vendors: It's all about the customer, dummies!!
