Vent and Kind of DRUNK....

didn't make it to teaching fellows either...don't know why ....why is this happening to me!!!! WHY!!!!! my grades were on point!!! how do i do to become a teacher??? WHAT DO I DO??? WHERE DO I WORK WITH A SOCIOLOGY DEGREE!!! .....help anyone i am completely desperate and soo sad

I majored in sociology in undergrad and I'm working on my masters in Mental Health Counseling right now.

It is kind of tricky because sometimes a BA doesn't neccessarily mean $$$, especially in the sociology field (depending on where you work and what you do). I knew I wanted to persue counseling and social work and I knew I had to go for my masters in order to get more money and better positions.

Is teaching what you absolutely want to do or are there other things that you would like to persue. If teaching is what you REALLY want, maybe think about taking on a double major. You're still young, and you would be able to knock it out in no time.

awwww hun, i'm so sorry..lots of hugs

can you look into a teacher's program at a cuny or suny school? it could be less expensive than other schools and you could sub or be a teacher's aide for experience while you get your masters. it took me 2 years to get it and time does go quickly. let me know if i can help cuz i am in the field.

do you have any education credits? if you do, you might be able to teach in a Catholic school. You could also get a job as a teacher's assistant - you would have the same schedule as a teacher, but none of the extra work, which would be helpful while you are in school. I did that while going for my Masters. It also made it easier because all the teachers at school were willing to help with papers/projects that i had. If you have any questions, FM me.
