Vent, do you realize who is your true friend is when planning a wedding?
I realized how crappy my friends really are. Not all just a couple who really is making this more stressful thrn it has to be. I had one friend that couldn't believe I picked a plain lace dress. She thinks I should be wearing a tight bling dress and is very disappointed with my look. Another wrote me an email that she can't believe I got a dress without her and that how could that be any fun . I went with my mom and my daughter and to me having my daughter there was the best feeling. I also have one or two people out of no where contacting me because they want an invite because others are going that they know. People are against our decision of no bridal party as well as me not using the vendors they had at their affair or a vendor that is there personal friend . Can't people just be happy for someone? I feel like at the weddjng they will be critiquing more then being happy for me.

I am right there with you!!! my 'closest friend' she keeps cancelling our dress appointments always an excuse. Now she tells me she has to start saving for the hair and make up ( If she was in any financial distress of course I would pay for her, but they make more than me) always comparing my choices to another wedding she attend to ( which was 150k LOL) first of all is rude to compare and second we don't have the second budget. I don't know if people get resentful or jealous but im starting to distance my self from all the negative. who has time for that and it ruins my mood. !

I am very happy for you and I don't even know ya but I know exactly how you feel. Opinions are like butt holes, everyone has one. It is unfortunate how when you are in a good place there are certain people that can not share in that joy with you and let you just be happy. That is when you see who your true friends are. I think that is so beautiful that when you went shopping for your dress it was your mother and your daughter. Perfect day with just the girls. And as far as your friends not agreeing with you not having a bridal party-just goes to show you how right you were in your decision. How could they not see how special that moment was for you to have your daughter there. Really!!! I had a best friend that I could not have imagined not being by my side on my day and I have not seen her since my engagement. This is suppose to be a happy time for you and your FH and your day should be surrounded by people who support you and want you to be happy. It's your day sweetie and you do what makes you happy. = ) Don't allow this little hiccup to take away from your planning and your moment. Enjoy the ride!!

The saying is 100000000% true!!! Weddings bring it the worst in everyone!!! My stress is threw the roof!!! Some people mean well, but honestly unless your opinion is asked keep it to your self. I don't mean to sound like a bridezilla but they don't realize how much stress they add on my plate!!!
Point is I'm there with uya!! I've had ny share if fights with people!! Good luck!!

This! I am dealing with this with FH's cousin who is one of my bridesmaids. She helped us get a great deal with our venue because she knows the owners and now she feels she should be involved in every aspect of planning. We booked our DJ without her knowing and when we told her she was like 'Oh, I don't like them'. I wanted to say 'Well, you aren't paying for them so I don't care what you like' but I kept my mouth shut.
My MOH has also given me a hard time about my bachelorette party because I want to do a day at the wineries and she doesn't. She said to me the other day 'Well, technically you don't get a say and I get to plan it' in which I responded 'If you plan something I don't want to do, I'm not going'. She wants us to go away but I just don't want to do that. I want everyone to be able to go and I know some people can't afford to go away for a weekend.
I just don't understand why some people think that their opinion matters more than others.

Just think of all the 'advice' you will get raising kids!

I am sorry that you are dealing with this. My MOH is kind of the same way. She has an opinion about EVERY decision that I make and it gets really annoying sometimes. She thinks that I should do bare minimal for my wedding and that isn't happening. You just need to stick with what you want and in the end the people that truly matter to you will understand that it is your day and if they don't like it then they can pay for everything and do it their way!
