is sooo far away! Sometimes I wonder if I can contain myself for that long. I know it will go by quick and I should enjoy the process but I can't help wondering if i'll just end up being a stressed out person for over another year! lol
Don't get me wrong, I like taking things slow and planning them out well but I feel like when I talk to people, they don't take me seriously about wedding plans since they keep saying you have sooo much time.
One of FH's aunts, said 'well, we'll be there if we are still around by 2011'. i know she was just trying to be funny but I don't care for those comments. And I feel silly talking to FH's mom and trying to get a guest list from her since they all do things at the most 6 months in advance. (laid back puerto ricans) She planned her daughter's wedding in 4 months so she must think i'm a bridezilla!
anyways just had to vent!! thanks for listening girls!

Re: ~VENT~ Feels like our wedding...
ok your wedding isnt really far away so dont worry you are almost to the one year mark. Ive been engaged since Xmas and booked in Feb for March 2011. Just say ill get married in 2010 if you pay and then everyone will stop saying its so far away. Plus I feel we have more time to make our weddings that much better then people who rush through the planning process.
2010'er crashing.... don't worry it will go by fast. I was engaged in April 2008 and set my date for June 2010.. i cant believe i now have less than a year to go! dont worry you'll get there before you know it. enjoy the planning process! :)

Re: ~VENT~ Feels like our wedding...
i am getting married the month before you and even though it seems like it is still far away i know that the time is going to go so quick. i mean, i got engaged almost 8 months ago which is crazy to me because it seems like yesterday. honestly, i think the best way to cope with all the waiting is pacing yourself. do not try to plan everything asap. personally, i like having a bunch of little wedding related things to focus on each month. the planning distracts me.

Re: ~VENT~ Feels like our wedding...
I am getting married the week after you and I get the same response when i tell people my date. i dont know if you saw my post a while ago but i was saying that every time i call a vendor they dont take me seriously and they tell me to call back.
I feel anyone who sets their wedding far in advance has an advantage. We are able to plan the wedding of our dreams. We can take our time and plan and save for our day and not have to stress about payments. It does seem like its so far away but i think if it was any closer I would be a nervous wreck

I think that it is great that you have more time to plan! When FH and I first got engaged we were planning on booking summer 2010..but upon looking at our budget and how much we can realistically save, we thought it was best to wait another year. It was such a relief when we made that decision!! I think that some people just don't realize the cost and all that is involved in the planning of a wedding. I'm sure you will see that January 2011 will be here before you know it!!

Re: ~VENT~ Feels like our wedding...
Ahhh mine is soo far away toooo! BUT I see it as a must for us since we can space our RH payments 3 months apart.. also we can shop around for vendors bc with the luxury of timmee.. I know how frustrating it is thoughh! My fiance doesnt even take it seriously yettt.. he gets very overwhelmed when I try to book things now bc he thinks im rushing it!! Oh well reality will hit him soon enough lol!

Luckily I have not run into the vendor problem but you would think in this economy they would be happy to have a contract in place (guaranteed $$)
