So when we first got engaged FH said he wasn't that interested in wedding planning and I was a little bummed that he didn't care about what our wedding was going to be like....
Skip ahead to the present and O M G..... He has strong opinions on EVERYTHING. Factor in Momzilla and I'm starting to really stress out. Everything is going to be a compromise, and I think compromises are great and all, but maybe I just want a few things to be how I envisioned them. I got the RH i really wanted so maybe I should just be happy with that. I don't know.

Haha oh man... try to keep your mind! my mom really wants a lot of input too but in my head I'm paying for most of the wedding so I get most of the say.
FH was the opposite, he didn't want me to do any planning without him and said he had certain things he wanted say over bc he went to school for graphic design. Now, everytime i try to talk to him about it he has nothing to say and is like oh its the brides day, and I'm like ummm yes, and no...

Not to be mean but omg the memories! Groomzille + Momzilla + FMIL = Crying for 2 weeks straight. I gained like 5 lbs per week and still have yet to recover.
TRY.. as hard as it may be just TRY to just do what you can to make them happy and be rest assured that give it a month (or 2) and they will be off your back. Tell FH you'll plan it with him in due time and tell him you need space.. same for everyone else. Just listen to them. I finally just said 'okay.. we'll see. There's plenty of time. I just got engaged and I want to just enjoy it.' Suddenly.. everyone backed off. (FH backed off after I told him he contributed to me crying and making me sad.)

Re: Vent: Groomzilla
I am greatful that my FH and my mom and future mother in law are letting me do all the planning. I am making FH be involved because it is his day too. However. I do have a Gradmazilla!! Who will and wants all the input and having me stress out all the time now because she wants everything to be perfect. So totally know how you girls feel. My grandma wants me to have this huge affair in a church and for me and my FH she is lucky we are actually getting married in a hall and no chruch. But I will never hear the end of it from the photogrpaher and video person we picked to my dress!! The past couple of months have been crazy!!

Re: Vent: Groomzilla
My mother is EXTREMELY opinionated and has something to say about EVERYTHING. I'm already referring to her as momzilla. FH is really relaxed and quiet and is never proactive about anything so I doubt he will be about wedding planning. He actually told me to go see as many RH's as I want and to just bring him to the 'final four.' I asked him if he wanted me to make march madness brackets lol

Turning RH hunting into a college basketball format sounds like a good way to get him to be interested.

Ohh man I guess I have to watch what I wish for but I wish FMIL was involved, at least a little. Granted... its FH's stepmother, but FFIL paid for all of his step-daughters wedding a few years ago and FH thinks because he's his actual son he should get some money, but they haven't said/offered anything. FH is also pissed because his step-sister's real dad is loaded, but his dad and stepmom paid for everything.
I will bet anything though that FH will want his parents names on the invites though even if they don't put forth a dime and my parents are paying for half ... can't wait for that discussion

the money discussion becomes such a HUGE issue! FH's parents are helping and my mother, father and step mother are helping.. I refuse to put everyones names on the invitation.. thats just too many names its an invite not a play bill! but im sure that will be a battle when the time comes!

I originally thought FH didn't really care about wedding stuff, but out of nowhere started complaining about the RH's I wanted to go see. Not to mention drove my mom and I nuts about our e-party. Guys are so weird and moody sometimes!!

I have to say I am very lucky. FH has been involved but not Groomzilla. When it came time to look at florists he was like I really do not care about the flowers. You can do whatever you want and just tell me! But pretty much everything else he has been involved with.

Re: Vent: Groomzilla
FH is involved but in a good way - i pretty much pick what i want and he usually likes it b/c we have similar taste. a few times i liked something he wasnt into it i caved haha (e.g. our colors being pink and brown), but compromise is what its all about rt?! lol i DEF understand having other -zillas around though! i have noo patience i just say 'we have time' to basically be like, WE will decide eventually but thanks 4 the input!
