VENT: I can't believe the prices for shipping items
Because the airlines have started to put ridiculous luggage restrictions FH and I had to ship a ton of things to Hawaii for the wedding. Today I went to UPS and they wanted to charge me $140 to ship a 28lb box. The postal service was much better but I had to put a rush on it b/c the man told me that it would take a month to get my box to Hawaii using standard shipping. Now I know Hawaii is far from here: But a month. What the heck!!!

I dont think it would take a month!!! I get things shipped from ebay from ALL OVER the place and they never take that long.

the man was a jerk to begin with. He told me that boats take a long time ma'am. I was like I know Hawaii is far. Then he started to get rude like are you moving there or something with all this stuff. I was like no actually I am getting married and I need this stuff there. I was only asking to get it there in 14 days; how is that a RUSH?????

I asked to add a piece of tape to it b/c the bottom of the box needed to be reinforced. He told me I had to buy a whole roll of tape meanwhile the lady next to use was allowed to use their postal tape. GRRRRRRR I am so mad. I swear if that box busts I am going to be screwed

WHAT??!!! What about the free priority mail tape?? Was it priority mail?? Cause if it was everyone is allowed to use the tape. IM getting angry reading this!

I know, I ship out stuff for Ebay from time to time and am floored at how much it costs to ship the smallest of things. I have to charge higher prices for the shipping fees and buyers never understand why they can buy a pair of my brand-new, never worn sneakers for 5.00, but have to pay 11.00 shipping.
