i got a quote of $1,500.00 for the wedding video. compared to other quotes i got this was a little high especially for video only but the guy is an independent videographer & happens to be the same guy who taped my sweet 16. he did a great job & will include everything in that price. (raw copies, cut copies, photo montage, day of (morning to night), & he even said he will go to where FH is getting ready). i was very happy. so i told FH & he said, this is our wedding why would you use the same vendor??
i don't understand why that would annoy him. the guy does do wedding videos. & what annoys me most of all is i am sure FH will never sit down & watch the video.
what should i do???

I don't know what the big deal is. If you want to go with him just do it. Your the bride you get to make the final decision!

If you think they are good...go for it. And the price seems reasonable. I've been getting quotes in the $1800/$1900 range.

He should watch the damn tape before blowing the idea off.
I mean you are going back to this guy cause you were happy with the work he did for you before right?? It's clear you know you are getting your moneys worth from him since you know the quality of the work and for the price, it sounds good compared to what I've been hearing from some girls.

i think i may have forced him to watch the sweet 16 video early on in our relationship. but since it is 8 years already it wouldn't help support me here.

You are already aware of his quality of work, i would consider that a huge bonus. I don't see how using the same person would be odd. Is he well versed in weddings?

he has been doing sweet 16s for atleast 25 years. he started doing weddings in 2000. he works just him & his son, which i really like rather then going with a big company. i just would feel really bad to not use him since i already spoke with him about it. he remembered taping my sweet 16 & knew who i was when i called him.

Don't let feelings of obligation force you to use this guy. You have to go with someone you are happy with and whom you trust. A phone call is never a guarantee sale so don't feel bad. Take FH with you to see his work. Take it from there. It may be you don't like the way he shoots a wedding and if that's the case, you just keep looking.

i am sure i will be able to make a decission once i sit with him & see what he does for weddings. i am just annoyed at FH for saying he was a vendor from my sweet 16 & being annoyed over it.

use him lol.... if you know his work is good and hes done weddings in the past go for it! see if you can talk him down a lil in price since he did ur sweet 16

hehe i had a similar situation with the dj...my cousin djs he is pretty good and legit!! lol I was soo happy thinking omg i am gonna save soo much money blah blah blah when i told FH he's like YEEAAAAAAAA HOW ABOUT NOO lol i was like but why...he;'s like NO lol so uggghhh men lol
