Vent - Justice is served - or it couldn't happen to a more deserving guy!
Life at work has been a living H#!! lateley since my 2 office mates have basically decided that they no longer need to be considerate of the fact that the 3 of us share a small office space. The CEO's 23 yr old son is one of them, and he's basically established a dictatorship. We used to alternate stations, keep the radio low or just keep it off, but lately he's started having little hissy fits if he doesn't get his way and finally accused me of playing childish games with the radio because I'd change the station while he was away for his 2 hour lunch breaks, or turn it down if it was too loud. Finally, he declared that he would no longer compromise - it had to be his station and 'turning it off was NOT going to happen'. His promise to keep it lower lasted all of one morning before he turned it up again.
I spoke to our supervisor and she offered to just remove the radio option altogether or try to find me another office. Unfortunately, space is limited and the other option is not too desireable either - crowded and noisy with phones and printers, but at least I won't have to listen to his annoying top-40 rap and hip-hop that repeats songs 4 times a day! (I turned down the radio removal because I don't want to start a war over this - just not worth it politically at work - I'd end up as the bad guy)
And since he's habitually late and they are monitoring his arrival time, when my supervisor checked on that, I walked past her and let her know it wasn't the arrivals they needed to monitor but the 2 hour lunches - got a smile and a nod there so things are looking up.
But the real delight for today was when the brat's brother called to confirm that yes, a virus had wiped out the ENTIRE HARD DRIVE of his home computer, with all 3000 songs and other 'important stuff' he had on there - none of it recoverable and none of it backed up - oh sweet justice![]()
