Vent - Long
Okay, everything is just getting to me, and it is not all wedding related. So I just need to vent.
First - work *****. Layoffs at the beginning of this year meant no raises this year, now it looks like more layoffs are coming in January. When the union tried to stop layoffs a bunch of the people I worked with refused to give an inch to save any single job. Now, all of their actions are going to come back and bite not only the loudmouths who don't care about their colleagues in the arse, but the rest of us as well. Obviously, there is a ton more to this story, but I don't want to bore everybody to death with the details. ARGH!!!!!!!![]()
Second - FH is commissioner of a fantasy baseball league. This is fine, as in who cares, whatever, it makes him happy. Except when you are sitting in a nice restraint with friends and in the middle of dinner he says we have to hurry up because I have to do the computer simulation!!! Why is it that we either have to be home by 9 PM, or can't go out until 9:30???? ARGH!!!!!![]()
Third - next Friday is my B-day. Not just any b-day, but one of those b-days that ends in ZERO (like 20, 30, 40), and my mother decides e-party will be on Sunday. Translation - who cares how significant b-day is?![]()
Fourth - and this is why b-day thing is problem. The e-party is not even real e-party. It is just a meet and greet his family. I am not allowed to invite friends. Reason - well my sister got married May 04. She had e-party (that my mother hosted) with all her friends in 03. Then was her bridal shower, then her wedding, then her baby shower, and Oct 2 is christening, and it is all just too much!! So, I am getting gyped out of e-party AND b-day!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![]()
Fifth - said sister is MOH. (I was hers) Do you think she would go look at BM dresses? I call, I try to schedule a time convenient for her, and she says she has to get back to me, and a week later I am calling her, only to repeat the same exercise. My other BMs live outside NY, so I can't dress shop with them. (and the reason I am stressing a year before the wedding, since coordinating with girls in 3 different states is difficult). She knows this. I went to 20 different salons (nope not an exaggeration) with her to find her wedding dress, and another dozen to try on BM dresses. I found one salon that has all but one of the dresses I think I like, and it is around the corner from my job, so I could go with her at lunch, or after work, or on Saturday. But no, she can't even call me back!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!
