VENT: More 'can i bring a guest' drama for the eparty

A while ago I posted how my uncle is running his mouth and wants his sons (my cousins) to bring dates to the e-party. This was brought up after the RSVP date and they were not invited w/ dates as per the invitation.

Weeks go by - and not a phone call about it - he brought it up to his mom (grandma) who told my mom (his sister) and then told me. Meanwhile my mom or grandma are not hosting this party - FH's family is.

I get a FB message last night from him TELLING me they are bringing guests and blaming my mom and grandma since they said people aren't coming and there is now room!

EXCUSE ME?!?!? Not so much - so i wrote him back and said 'no' they can't bring dates and here are the reasons (the one's that I listed above).

The nerve - to not even ask but to tell me and to do it weeks after the RSVP date. Not gonna fly with me!

My aunt did the same thing to me last week. She said my 18 year old cousin was bringing her new boyfriend. I mean, it didn't bother me much, but my parents are paying for the e-party so it's really my mom's fish to fry.

We had something similar happen with 'well my sibling was invited with a guest, why wasn't I?' Said sibling has been w/ their SO longer than FH & I have been together, and the person asking this had only being seeing their SO for a couple weeks.

We defaulted to the person paying for the eparty to make the decision.

He sounds pretty ball$y. I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up with his kids and dates anyway. Hope it doesn't happen, but he sounds like the type who might out of spite. KWIM?

wow ! that's BEYOND ballsy! Honestly, who does that?

Years ago, my FH's cousin's gf refused to go to a sweet 16 bc she didn't receive her own personal invitation in the mail. They'd been dating a few months at most. Needless to say, she didn't go, he was miserable and they later broke up.

Some people need to buy a clue.

I'm glad you spoke your mind.

I sooo do not blame you for getting upset!!! Your uncle is clearly not listening and doesn't understand the fact that your FH's family is hosting your e-party.!!

Good for you for standing up to the situation!!!

some people lack common sense and class.
i'm glad you told him why - have you heard back yet?
like someone said earlier from today, ihope they don't show up with dates, that would be rude and put you in a difficult position to explain to the future in laws
