How long does it take someone new to learn what to do on their job if they were given instructions?
This lady started on the 9th, and for the past two weeks she has been harrassing me with the most bizzare questions/requests (I work in finance field and she is more senior than me):
I can't activate my login name, who do contact? (the same person who sent you login info, dah)
How many loans does the group get a week? How fast do you analyze them and how many hours/days does it take? Do I look like a manager analyzing our group' performance? Its neither yours or mine job to do that....
After having been given example of what to do, she continues to ask 'what do I put in such and such field'??? Where do I find this info?
And the best is when she asks you something, you advice and she does it another way around!!!!
Sorry, I just had to vent!!!

Re: Vent on a new employee
I'm sorry, I know it's frustrating...sometimes, though, it's overwhelming for the new person - new job, new ways of doing things, new people. I try to keep that in mind...but I know, it doesn't always work. Hang in there...

Re: Vent on a new employee
I always tell anyone that I am training to get a notebook and take notes!! I really hate it when someone asks me the same questions over and over again. I tell them...just read your notes!!! I know...im a *****!! Ohh well!! I would rather have this stuff written down then to have to keep asking someone about it!!

Re: Vent on a new employee
I,personally, am the kind of person who will ask too many questions rather than not enough because I rather have to ask and get it right the first time then not ask and have to redo things. JMO, but she sounds very insecure.

Re: Vent on a new employee
She wrote things down the first time I trained her!!! I understand that she is new, but its been two weeks already, and she has over 15 years of experience, you would think by now she would know what to do to for problems!!! She had no trouble learning how to use emergency day care in another office!!!
