My family drama started right after my engagement.
My mother announced that she would not attend my wedding if my dad brought along the woman he lives with and has been with for 7 years... She has never met his gf (who happens to be very nice) but nevertheless she didn't want her there.This would have really hurt my father -- she basically wanted me to choose her over him. I refused to back down. My mom called me a bridezilla (whatever) but she got the message loud and clear -- emotional blackmail was not going to work. She's coming to the wedding and she knows that she better not start any drama.
Ultimately, you are an adult and you have the right to celebrate your wedding the way you see fit. I say do what you want (within reason) and let the chips fall where they may.

You are soooo right. If they can't make it for YOUR DAY, then you don't need them...especially if it's some BS about 'I'm not coming if I can't bring my kids'. Why can't people just get over themselves and realize that the world doesn't revolve around their kids?! I'm just assuming that's what it's about!!

And i'm not going to let this ruin anything. If some guests dont want to see FH & I get married and spend that day with us (for whatever reasons) then that is their choice and I hope they have a nice time sitting at home on September 19th

kathryn i think we all go through it....so we understand...i know i do my mom is threatening she is going to be uncomfortable at my wedding, not come or just be pissed the whole day and she shouldn't because it's ---get this---her day!!!!
this is all because my mom and her 2 sisters aren't talking ughh!!! it is crazy and ridiculous. But keep your head up
you only have 2 months left and it will be the best day of your life!!!!!!! don't worry too too much about other's opinions when it is a day to celebrate you and your FH no one else matters!!!
