VENT, OVERPRICED Celebrants

I am so PISSED, I had a appointment this morning to meet a celebrant. AT THE LAST MINUTE, she cancel on me, and then TELLS me, she don't think she can come all the way to Woodbury for $550. First of all you are talking at the ceremony for 15 minutes. I don't understand these OVERPRICE *** celebrants. I mean really, this is a special day for me, and you are only there for 15 minutes. I remember I met another one that wanted $1250 plus $250 to travel. I AM SO MAD , I really believe vendors hear the word wedding and try to overprice people and take advantage of people. I AM SO STRESS right now that was so RUDE to tell somebody at the last minute especially we talked about a budget before I even talked to you.

ugggh sorry that happened! I agree, i'd drive an hour if I could make 550 for 15 minutes haha....because even witht he travel time each way, that's like over 200 bucks an hr

Why dont you try craigs list?? I heard someone say they found a really reasonable officiant on there.

Hey, have you looked into Pastor April? She does Civil ceremonies as wel as religious ... She is such a sweetheart, and charges no more than 575 for most of Long Island ... She might be worth a shot ...

Try rev Laura Tria. She has a simple ceremony option for under $400.

We're using April for a civil ceremony with interfaith aspects. For $500 or so she does a customized ceremony for you, brings her own PA system and averages a 30 min ceremony. She's been a delight to work with

Pastor April was pretty reasonable compared to others we met with and she was phenomenal. I would have gladly paid double!

We booked Rev Deb and love her. She was under 500.

I'm so sorry that this is happening to you! She should have just been honest & told you no from the start ..Hope it all works out for you!! & ITA with you on vendors overpricing as soon as they hear the word *wedding*
