We went to look at a few RH's today! we had a great day and we fell in LOVE with one of the places. But, they told us that all of our vendors had to be insured. One of my brother's friends is a DJ and was going to do the wedding. he isn't official or anything, he just has the equipment and everyone gets him to do their parties and he dj's at some of the bars we go to. He was going to give us such a great price and he does a GREAT JOB! Now i'm so upset. No other place we went to spoke about vendor insurance!

I know, it stinks!! One hall we looked at wanted a $2,000,000 policy for outside vendors. I know the hall has to cover their @$$, but that is a lot of money!!! Sorry that happened to you...

yuck that stinks but any brides reading this should really make sure all their vendors have insurance bc it is your responsibility and i would hate for anyone to find out too late!!

My Fh also knows of a dj we might use..I hope this problem doesn't happen to us..

CLM had it on everything that we looked at or signed.
Most halls do require it so everyone should double check because it will be a nasty suprise when you go over your menu's and they ask for all your vendors contact info.
It stinks about having a family connection and since its not a major career he doesn't have hte insurance. Its really a pain but the hall's do it for your protection along with their own protection. Exactly protecting for what i have no clue.

yeah they do need to have insurance...that was actually one of my long list of questions i brought with me lol...But sorry about your problem, hope there will be something you can do

If we choose outside vendors, the RH said they need to have insurance. Most places we visited mentioned this. I think it's pretty standard.

It is so true that some tell you this and some do not. I was talking to Charles at Villa and he told me all about Vendors Insurance. But he also told me that there is a waiver that the vendor can sign in case they arent insured.... so ASK ABOUT A WAIVER!
