Vent/a cry for help
Hello Brides-to-Be!
I'm wasting all of your precious time so I can't hopefully gain some motivation and reassurance. I'm a few weeks away from my 6 month mark and I've fallen into a deep rut. So far, I have the ceremony and reception venue booked, my dress should be being delivered any day now. I have 7 bridesmaids all choosing their own dress so some have ordered, the rest all at least know what they're going with. As far as vendors I've already put down a third of the cost for my photo/video as a deposit, I still have to choose a DJ and a florist but with a wedding date of January 2nd I haven't been too concerned about finding ones that will be available. My problem is finding time and energy. I'm a restaurant manager in a VERY busy place where I also bartend a few days. I work about 60 hours a week on my feet and it is NON STOP. 10-12 hour days of being pulled in 187362629 different directions in a place that is open less than a year so needless to say, has some kinks that need ironing out. On top of being there 5 days a week, I babysit a 2, 3, and 4 year old every Wednesday for anywhere from 8-12 hours. The one day a week I have to myself, I'm exhausted. My mother and sister are constantly on my case about the planning. Making comments (at this point, it's literally every time I speak to one of them) such as 'the wedding is still on right?' 'You know this is your wedding, right?' and their favorite, 'everyone works while planning a wedding.' Now I would never assume any person's job is easier than mine (because who am I to say?) but my sister and mother both worked entry-level office jobs during their engagements and both became stay-at-home-moms after their fir kid. They have not a clue what I do all day. I don't sit once, even if I have the opportunity to eat something, 99.9% of the time I take quick bites and run back and forth (I'll easily go 8 hours without ever seeing such chance). I guess my question is, am I really so behind? Is the fact that I'm not giddily skipping to vendor appointments give my mother reason to ask if I'm 'having second thoughts' about half a dozen times? Not a day goes by that I don't look at my fiancé and think how much I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with him. I know ~deep down~ that's all that 'really' matters and who gives a s**t what other people think but I just have to ask if I'm alone. Is anyone else feeling any sort of pressure like this? I feel like I'm a bad bride or something. I want to have a fun, unforgettable wedding; friggin sue me if I'm not jumping for joy over having to plan such an important day, I'm effing tired.
Thanks for letting me get that out, I'll ironically be bringing this rant to a close with a 'Happy Planning' to you all :D
