VENT....FH driving me to drink!!!!

I'm just so frustrated b/c he is the total opposite of me...he loves to procrastinate and just leave things to the very last minute....

I asked him on Tuesday to get a savings bond for my niece's first birthday TODAY. He said no problem, I'll get it Wed. after work...well, he forgot the paper w/ her ss# on it, so he didn't go.

Thursday....he worked OT & then had a dentist appt. & then the bank was closed.

Friday...banks closed

Just now as I'm getting ready he's like how much longer are you going to be....are you going slow on purpose?! He wanted us to go TOGETHER to get her bond. He just drives me up the wall.

He finally just grabbed the keys & said, FINE, I'll go & get it.

I just hate that I can't depend on him to do anything.....it makes me upset. He knows it & we have this conversation all the time. He thinks his excuses are legitimate, which they are, but FIND A WAY to do something you said you are going to do.!!!!!!!!!! URRRRRRRR

Cindy, I soooo can relate!! I feel like FH can't do anything on his own and I blame it on his mother! She did everything for them!! I'm very independent and do everything on my own and it drives me up the wall that he can't manage to run to the bank or store without me with him!!

YES! FH is a major procrastinator. You remember how long it took him to book a honeymoon? Ask me if I have a wedding ring yet. 98 days and no ring. But getting up or football at 6:30 on a Saturday Morning and HE IS THERE!!! I feel your pain Cindy.

if it were up to FH the wedding woulnt get planned till the day before so I feel your pain as well.

I can totally relate, my FH is the same way. I have finally stopped getting annoyed and started leaving detailed lists, I know it's very sad that I have to, but at least when he has the list to 'remind' him, he ususally gets things done. And the mother thing, I hear that. My FH is 32 and his mom still makes his dentist appts and then calls and reminds him to go,

Sounds like your FH and mine are the same man. I've tried the list thing too, and reminders, and still lots of things just don't get done unless I do them. What I've really found helps is to give him short lists - no more than 2-3 small, and I mean small tasks and provide lots of detail. That he can handle sometimes. More than 3 and he gets distracted along the way. I'm also trying to make him make lists for himself. It's a constant struggle. But now he's making lists, and that's great, but that doesn't mean anything on them gets done. Argh!
