That's just rude. I understand most places dont give quotes over the phone because they want to do the whole sales pitch in person but knowing that you're out of state they should have been more understanding with your situation. I hope you find a place that appreciates your business more!

Sorry they were rude to you too. Try Jericho Terrance! They helped out my sister and and now brother in law who at the time just came back from Iraq and not to mention its a beautiful place. Customer service is key and i am sure you won't have no problems!

Re: Vent!!I
I refused to look at any place that would not give me pricing over the phone, as I was also planning from out of state. You've got the added complication of active duty...stick to your guns and go with a place that will honor your unique situation and be accommodating EVERY step of the way.

Re: Vent!!I
I have some quotes that they gave me for my wedding in August of 2013. Not sure of you wanted specific quotes for being active in the military but let me know if you want them.

Re: Vent!!I
That's definitely their loss! how rude I understand that they do not give price quotes over the phone, but they could have been a bit more accommodating.
best of luck with your search!

Re: Vent!!I
I'm so sorry they did this to you! That is very disappointing to hear especially since you are out of state and only have a limited time in NY to find a hall. I wouldn't want to waste my time either at a hall If I didn't know it was in my price range or not.
I'm having my reception there and they have always been so accommodating. It really is beautiful especially the winter garden room.

Their loss. If they are not accomodating to you now, they will not be on your wedding day.

Re: Vent!!I
When my DIL and I were planning her's and Peter's wedding Peter was serving in Iraq and every place we went to bent over backwards to give them what they wanted. They finally decided on Russo's on the Bay. Even there as soon as Mr. Russo heard that the reason the groom wasn't there was because he was in Iraq he immediately said 'Oh the groom's cake is free, the hospitality hour free'. They did everything they could to make the day a very special one. If price is a concern you may want to think of having your wedding on an off day like Memorial Day, 4th of July or Labor Day. Peter and Nina actually got married on Labor Day Monday and there was a big discount (one they would have gotten even if Peter wasn't military). Again as I said once they heard he was in Iraq they did even more to make memorable. With that said I would just look for a hall that will be nice to you and respect you.

Re: Vent!!I
Wow not nice. I dislike businesses that won't just be straight forward. It's really annoying. I understand that they want you to go there but they should make some exceptions. Can your mom or someone go in to just check it out?
