I am tired of bill collectors. I just got a call from the car company. They want november's payment which I understand fully. I told them that I would make it on the 16. The way these people talk to you its unbelievable. They made me feel lower then sXXX. The year has not been good for us. I am going back to stop & shop my second job. I never wanted to go back but now I am. I am just going to use that check everyweek to pay the car, phone, and everything else.
What gets me is they see the notes of all the expenses that I have had this year and they still do not care. I wish I can go back to bed and dont get up til next year.

Re: VENTING
Sorry your stressed.
A book that I found so informative about money issues was 'Young, fabulous and Broke' by Suze Orman. It gives you steps to get out of debt, keep your credit good and how to move forward in the future and many other advice tips.

Re: VENTING
sorry to hear it! you and i are in the same boat.
maybe it will make you feel a little better to hear someone elses's drama..so you know you're not alone:
last nite FH and i talked about the possibility of cancelling our wedding. make a long story short--basically he got word that from an accident his mom had on a car he gave her back in 2001...he was sued and a judgement of 15K is against him..even though he wasn't involved in the accident at all. now a lawyer wants 5K in 2 weeks or my FH's license will be suspended. he's about to graduate from NYPD academy and if he loses his license..he loses his job. we had no idea about any of this, no judgement was sent to us, and all documents were sent to his old address. the lawyer we talked to for the insurance company that sued him, had the attitude on the phone like 'Not my problem you didn't know about it...my client wants their money.'
Needless to say we have no idea what we're gonna do. We'll have to either cancel our wedding and take our deposits back or try and find friends and family who will loan it to us.
You are not alone in money problems...bad luck happens to us all. You and your FH will get through these tough times!!

Re: VENTING
trust me its not easy for most of us ... me and my FH are living in a apartment so we have to pay rent, cars, student loans, and a million other bills plus try to pay off our three very enormous credit cards and still have money left over for things like food and laundry. It is a constant worry every single day as to where the next paycheck will come from and what will it pay for. And to try to save for a wedding on top of all that seems almost impossible which so far has been. We have a little over a year left before our big day and we have a little less then nothing saved. How will we manage as my FH always tell me we will make it somehow together.. and that's my advice to you, work through it together and somehow things will fall into place :)

Re: VENTING
Have you asked for a raise? If your not happy at your job whether it be for money reasons or others - maybe you should start searching for another job that pays more. Do your resume up and just get it out there. You should get the NY times on Sunday - they have a great Classified section.
You are in control of your own destiny - I stongly believe that.

Kim trust me I know how you feel. If I were you and I say this because I did it. I paid off all my debt. There is no way I was going to go through this at the age of 40. Pay it off and then plan the wedding. Even though I still live check to check is because of the wedding so it will all be over soon.
Also, get a new job. Any one that doesnt give you a raise in 3 years doesnt deserve you.
