venting...

venting...

so my mom can get so annoying when it comes to talking about the honeymoon.. now my parents are letting us use their time share and we have the options of either going to st. john in the virgin islands, hawaii, atlantis in the bahamas and cancun.. now hawaii is out bc we prob cant afford that and and st. john resort that we can go to just got hit by a hurricane.. so my dilemma is that i think there will be too many kids at atlantis when we go yet its in october after columbus day so idk if there will be that many and theres def enough things to do... and then mexico my mom is never supportive about she continually says that there might be pirates and you never know if you go out into the ocean you can come into contact with them look what happened... blah blah and im like really not one word of support just always negatives about a place.... ughh sorry so long just had to vent...

idk what to do or where to go

Re: venting...

Don't let your mom dictate where YOU and FH should go on your HM. During planning I learned to just 'yes' my mom and then decide between me and DH. And that was after a lot of yelling and crying being that she put down a lot of wedding ideas.

Just one thing to keep in mind (and maybe speak to a Travel Agent), is hurricane season. You might not want to go to St. John's or the Bahama's being that you don't want to have to worry about hurricane season. Cancun might be your safest bet if you can't afford Hawaii.

Cancun is not overrun by pirates. In any place you travel even in our own neighborhoods, criminals exist. You just have to be cautious about who you talk to.

FH and I are going to cabo san lucas, mexico and i've been 3 times before with no issues.

my dad gave me grief when i told him we were going to mexico for our HM, i told him to get over it. my HM, my choice lol.

and ourwedding is right - hurricane season is definitely something to consider - our TA told us that mexico was a great choice for that time of year since they're not in the hurricane belt.

don't worry what other people say, it's yours and FH's decision - you're the only ones who have to be happy about it

Re: venting...

pick where you and FH want to go!
i have personally never been to Atlantis but i hear that it is gorgeous! i highly doubt the place will be over run with kids at that time of the year.

Cancun - i have never been but i, personally, would not go there for my HM.

St. John, your getting married in October, so whatever damage was done by any recent hurricane, will be cleared up by then. you can't think about what may or may not happen between now and then, just hope for the best. Fh and I are going to Venice for a few days before our Cruise in Europe. Just a few weeks ago they were showing on the news that Venice was flooded becuse of all the rain. I felt bad for the people who live there but I'm not going to stress out about it that it will be damaged for my HM.

Hawaii - i hear it is beautiful, but i have heard that depending on where you go, it may be pricey - check it out if your really interested

Re: venting...

I saw def go wherever you want to! Sorry mom!

I went to atlants with FH 2 years ago and we LOVED it...so much to do!

There were a lot of kids though....

And it is really, really, really expensive...we went for free (gotta love free trips!) but had to pay drinks and meals...it was insane how much everything cost!

I Cancun and have never seen any pirates the 3x I went!
There is so much to do there, and I'm not sure which hotel your parents have timeshare at but there are a few in the area that are for adults only.
