Venting! Planning drama

Venting! Planning drama

So our RH includes a 'party coordinator' with our package, but I feel like they do this just to push their vendors. We went to met with her for the first time last week and I felt like they just want to make the appointments for us with their vendors. So I told her I really don't care too much for flowers and therefore our budget for flowers is tiny! She goes on about how ppl sometimes want to do their own CPs and that's too much drama ETC

Anyway, she gave us the info on all their vendors and we agreed that since FH is going to grad school and is super busy we would try to get photographer appointments in April and florists in May
Well, she sent me an email yesterday with appointments twice a week in April for photographers and florists Then, I realized the florists they have as preferred vendors look super expensive So I did some research and yup, they are too high!! Then the only florist that might be in our price range that they recommend she didn't even book an appointment! I guess is kind of our fault for not telling her they seem to pricey but c'on! I made it very clear, we won't spend a ton of $$ on flowers, PERIOD. So I emailed back and cancel two of the 4 appointments made
(paraphrasing):
'Thank you so much for booking these However, we can't make the first appointment since it's this week and FH has to pack for a trip next weekend (it was on Thursday) and the one two weeks from now lands on my dad's birthday. Also FH is in Grad School and works full time and we really can't devote two days a week for appointments. Can we do Sundays or maybe just once a week?'

She replies back:
'let me know which ones you can't make by date. Sundays are though, most vendors can't meet that day. Let me see what I can do'

3 hours later after speaking to FH about this he said, just cancel them! We're not interested! So I canceled all but one appointment. I said 'sorry but the florists don't seem to be our style or fit our budget criteria We prefer something simpler and more cost effective we rather not waste anyone's time by going to meet with a vendor we're not truly interested in hiring '

Now I feel bad because I feel like she spent her time getting appointments for us and here I go and cancel 3 out of 4. But I also said, since FH is so busy with school I think is best if we let you know later on what works for us For now, please, we rather just go to this one appointment and take it from there. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Sorry just had to vent because from the get go I knew this flowers drama was going to happen!
I think I rather do candle centerpieces and save myself some grief!!
What do you girls think?

She's prob had far worse things happening then her scheduling and brides canceling! I wouldn't worry. You know your budget and what you want. You aren't a pro at this stuff, and neither are all of us other brides. I think thats prob just part of her day and it happens often. Plans change, and we have lots and lots of choices.

Def don't worry about it. Considering FH is a student I'm sure she expected that you wouldn't be able to go to a bunch of appointments back to back. Maybe just tell her that for future reference she should ask you prior to booking appointments so that you can check/clear your schedule! Def don't feel annoying, though, its her job to try and work things out for you guys

I would say to just schedule your own appts when you and FH can both attend. My FH has a busy work schedule. His schedule varies by wk and his wknds are limited b/c he gets paid more on wknds and he chooses to work them and take off during the wk. dont' feel bad, you were honest from the beginning with the coordinator about your FH's schedule so she should be more than understanding.

Quite frankly. I rather do my own appointments too. It's just so time consuming!! I told her is best if we do just once a week or we can do more than once a week but after mid May when FH is done with his MBA

I wonder if I can just ask her for help with other preparations other than scheduling.
