venting...issues already!
Get this one... Let me know if I am wrong or not... I sent out invites to our E-party a while back. My FH's has a much 'older' brother who himself got engaged this year for his 2nd time around. Well, he is 43 yrs old, second marriage and his wife to be as of May has an 18 yr old daughter (whom I have never meet). I sent out the invite addressed 'Mr. BIL & FSIL Well, he calls up FH and leaves a message 'I hope it was just an oversite that you forgot FSIL's daughter on the invite?' So we thought about it and both agreed that this girl can come to our E-party. Mind you, we were trying our best to keep this E-party small (close family and bridal party only). On Friday FH's Brother calls to say 'I know it is past the RSVP date, but 'yes' the four of us will be attending 'Myself, FSIL, her Daughter, and her daughters boyfriend' This blew my lid, because no way in H*** did I extend the invite to a 'boyfriend' as well. I haven't even ever meet this girl yet... I told FH, we have to put a stop to his brother dictating to 'us' on who is being invited to our E-party. Let it be known, we see his Brother yesterday and told him 'look we don't appriciate you just assuming you can make our guest list and we would have appriciated it, if you would have asked us first before just assuming your future step-daughter can bring a guest as well' His Brother blew up at us and stormed out of the house. He couldn't even reason with us and see our point of view on it. We were going to **** it up and let the BF come, but it was the principle behind it all that we wanted to make his Brother aware of. We are only 25 and his brother being 43 yrs old thinks he knows best and we should listen...because we are 'young'. Yea, right! KISS my A** is what I feel like telling his brother. Am I wrong? Now from what I gather, his brother will not be attending our E-party and my FH refuses to go to his brothers wedding in May. For such a small issue, which we were honestly not trying to make an issue, became one. I just refuse to be walked on. Sorry this is so long, needed to VENT![]()
