we are looking at venues for our July 26 2014 wedding. We already booked the date with the church and have a mass at 3pm so we need an evening wedding. we have a rather large guest list of about 220-250 people. we are looking for venues that are not the traditional catering hall styles. we have looked at a few private country clubs and i called other venues such as the Royalton, Carlyle on the Green, Sand Castle, Bridgeview Yacht Club and The Woodlands. None of them were available for our date except the Royalton...which is way out of our price range. We are looking to stay around $150 including tax and fees. Does anyone have any suggestions????

I'm biased since I'm a Royalton bride since I think it's an absolutely amazing venue. They may be able to work with you since the wedding is less than a year away...it's worth a try!

Harbor Links in port Washington. Holds up to 270, very reasonably priced and none traditional.

Re: Venue for July 2014 wedding
thanks everyone. i checked harbor links and they don't have my date available...but that type of venue is what we are looking for. westbury manor is too traditional for us we aren't really typical catering hall people and we don't like places that have more than 1 event going on.

The Milleridge Cottage! Similar to the Woodlands with the hardwood floors. HUGE room (inviting 270 people to my wedding) with a huge dance floor, amazing food, one wedding at a time, and an amazing price!

Try one of the Lessings Venues (pretty much all the Castles). More expensive, but deff not the traditional catering hall... I would highly recommend Larkfield Manor. They're newly renovated with a classic Tuscan look with stone walls, cathedral ceilings, luxury wooden bars and just a really beautiful setting. Large open space easily fitting your numbers. Check it out!
