Venue Help

Hi Ladies,

Does anybody know of a place where I could have an outdoor wedding? (Besides wineries) This might sound crazy but I really want to find a field/park put up a tent and have my wedding. I want something laid back, I want cocktail hour food, not a sit down dinner or formal buffet. I want drinking and dancing the whole time. We would prefer LI but might be willing to travel if the place/price is right. Does anybody know of a place where I could have this? Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Maybe look into the pavillion at Sunken Meadow? If I'm not mistaken, that has a more casual/laid back type of package.

Try the Vanderbuilt Mansion in Huntington/Centerport. I looked at it and it was beautiful. You use your own caterer and there is a site fee of $7,500 but thats a seasonal price. The reception is tented.

My friends got married last September at the Queens County Farm museum, I think it's in Floral Park?

Their ceremony was in what used to be a barn and they had their reception outside in a giant tent - it was so much fun and one of the best weddings I've ever been to!

(Luckily it didn't rain, otherwise it might have been a little smelly. )
