Hi ladies! Newly engaged :0) We just started booking venue visits, and are looking for other places to see. So far we're going to check out Milleridge Cottege, Woodlands at Woodbury, and Waters Edge in LIC. Ideally, we're looking for something that's fairly simple in terms of decor. I'd like something with wood floors (carpets...oh my goodness...there's some bad carpet out there!), and white walls. I don't mind things like moulding etc. on the walls...but I'd rather not have a drop ceiling. Milleridge seems like it may fit the bill...but some photos show this horrible painting thing on the wall? Is the gazebo area the reception venue? Any other venues that could be recommended? TIA!

The Royalton and the Westhampton Country Club both have hardwood floors in the ballroom.

Re: Venue help...
The Waterview Club is hardwood floors in the reception hall and all white walls. I was not a big fan of the ugly carpets either :/ One place I visited was gorgeous, until I got into the reception hall and saw the atrocious green carpets throughout the entire place! Good luck in your search :)

I'd recommend the Old Field Club and the Fox Hollow Somerly Room.

Re: Venue help...
I second the Royalton! After seeing a lot of carpeting I fell in love with the neutral color scheme. I didn't want to have to adjust my colors bc of the ballroom decor.

We LOVE Old Field Club! The only problem is their capacity. They said they can do 170, but prefer 150. We're looking at around 185+...so it's a no go :0(
Thank you all for the other suggestions!

Lombardi's on the bay! All Marble floors and elegant white walls!
*Edited: I didn't see you needed 185+ people; LOB won't hold that.. sorry!*

Bourne Mansion.. the ballroom has wood floors and is absolutely gorgeous
The Carltun at Eisenhower Park was really pretty too-- i'm pretty sure there were wood floors in the ballroom.

The Carltun has gorgeous hard wood floors and can accommodate your number of guests. Very elegant RH!
