Venue help!

Hi all,
We are recently engaged and would love to have our wedding for next year. We have a fairly large guest list of 250, which makes this task even more difficult. We don't want the usual catering hall kind of feel, we would love something unique. So far we have looked at the Glen Cove Mansion (which is the style we do not like) as well as the Museum of Aviation which we think is pretty cool, but would love to seek out other options. Does anyone have any recommendations for a unique venue/location that won't cost an arm and a leg like the vineyards?

Thanks in advance

Have you tried any of the botanical gardens or zoos? I don't know how much they run, but I've seen beautiful photos from the events.

EDIT: Also, Atlantis Marine World Aquarium has a beautiful cocktail hour in the aquarium section and then reception is in their brand new catering facility.

Venue help!

Atlantis sounds great, but the layout for a wedding is terrible and the food is lacking in quality:( I'll look into botanical gardens and zoos though.
Thanks
