VENUE HELP NEEDED

VENUE HELP NEEDED

I've been lurking and now really need some help.

Looking for a venue that also has overnight accomodations. I've been consdering the Montauk Yacht Club / Lands End and Glen Cove Mansion.

A little background - I''' be 50 he'll be 51 - planning a December wedding and are looking to be pretty informal. We have alot of out of town guests and a large group that does enjoy drinking and dancing. I do not want to do a regular hotel - looking for something a little different. I've read very mixed reviews on all (3). I'm not concerned with the wedding expense, but would like to try and keep the accomodations responsible for my guests.

Open for suggestions - anyone have any??

Try Fox Hollow. The inn is right across from the hall. The rooms are very nice and depending on how many ppl are going to book you can get a group discount by blocking rooms. Also, usually if you block rooms, they will more than likely comp your room.

Just and FYI: The inn has a 'no party' policy. So you can't party it up in the hotel.

i have heard nothing but great things about land's end, and some of my friends have been there several times for weddings!

ETA: the accomodations arent bad, just small there's only 14 rooms i think and no double beds. you could get shuttles to a hotel about 15 min away and pay to keep the bar open at the hotel

Giorgio's has a deal with Best Western and Holiday Inn. They shuttle guests to and from the RH for free. Let me know if you have any questions!

I know you said you don't want a regular hotel, but what about the Inn at Great Neck or the Inn at New Hyde Park.

I stayed at the Inn at Great Neck after the reception (at Leonard's) and the room and hotel in general were great! It's a boutique hotel, so the details are definitely attended to. We ate lunch at the restaurant the day after the wedding and were VERY impressed by the quality of food. And I've also read amazing reviews about receptions at the Inn at Great Neck.

I don't know anything about the Inn at New Hyde Park, but they, too, do receptions there.

How about the 3 Village Inn in Stoneybrook?

There's a new hotel/venue opening very shortly called the Allegria Hotel, in I believe Long Beach. I've heard it's supposed to be very nice, and it's the same owners as Atlantica.

I went for the East Wind for most of those reasons. It was beautiful. I would start looking and checking available dates soon.. if you want to get married this december.

I am getting married at East Wind 12/12, and think they have 12/11 available. It is beautiful.

I looked at Gurney's (in Montauk). They had great deals, but we have a lot of out of town guests, and it was too far to drag them, especially the elderly. I would look into it. It's gorgeous. They were willing to throw in a free week for my fiance and I, too!
