Venue Info

Hi Ladies,

I was wondering if you could help me. I've been engaged for a while now and after a few years of alot of ups and downs we are finally ready to plan our wedding. Weve decided on June 2014 and I was wondering when i should start looking at receptions venues and when i should be booking it? Also if you could give me some venues that i could look at, I am having a small wedding maybe 80-100 people and I am looking for a more modern looking venue no carpets, I just want something simple but elegant. Thank you in advance.

Re: Venue Info

For a venue you can start looking now. Since you have a couple of years, you can take your time and look at as many venues as you want. You will have your choice of pickings. Since June is in peak season the earlier you pick, the better your chances are. PLUS, you'll get 2011 prices which might be a lot cheaper then 2012 or 2013 prices.

Your other venders you can wait a little bit if you want but I would def start looking into venues now. Use this site as a guide, their venue guide is AMAZING!!!!

I know Jericho Terrace has one room called the Oak room which would be perfect for the amount of guests you have.

Will venues allow you to book so far in advance?

Re: Venue Info

The Metropolitan in Glen Cove is a more modern venue. Wood floors. They are a relatively small venue compared with some other LI places, but I know for a May 2012 saturday night wedding they wanted 120 person minimum, which may be more than you are looking for.

another thing to consider if you're booking so far in advance is whether your venue has any planned renovations in the next 3 years. the space could end up looking very different from when you book.

It's never too early to start looking at reception halls. You can definitely start looking now! You should check out Larkfield Manor. There are 2 rooms. A bigger room and a smaller room. It's beautiful, and we got a great price and they helped us stay within budget. Goodluck!!
