Venues

Hi! Im new this website and my FH and I are starting the search for wedding venues. We checked out some websites and are a little overwhelmed but was curious about people's feelings on the following venues:

The Metropolitan
The Inn at New Hyde Park
The Waterview Club
Danfords Hotel and Marin

I am getting married at The Inn :) It was the 1st place I looked at and nothing else compared! The cocktail hour room is amazing!! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Welcome and Congrats!!!

Thanks and congratulations to you as well. Never heard of the venue but it caught my eye. Its beautiful. How is the layout of the room? Was hard to tell from the picture.

The only place I look at was danfords. It was the most awkward space that I saw. You walk in to a nice nautical bar that runs along the wall and that is your dance floor (very small). Then to the left there is like a very small narrow space that people walk through to get food during CH. Then you walk down a few steps from the bar into a small room where the tables are set up for the reception. So there isn't a seperate space for CH, the I guess you can call it a 'dance floor' is seperate from the room, no outdoor space to use, look out at the parking lot etc. I was very disappointed with this venue

The Inn is breathtaking! They're one of the few places I saw that actually had a real ballroom. The room is well-balanced...there's two large wooden bars on either side of the room, the sweetheart table sits facing the dance floor and the DJ sets up facing the dancefloor opposite the sweetheart table. If you're looking for a place that's gorgeous inside, the Inn will definitely impress you. And the food is amazing too!

Edit: If you're interested in Sept '13 you should call and check with the Inn at NHP because I believe they only have one or two Saturdays left in 2013.

I'm obviously biased, but I love the Waterview Club. The food is delicious, the view is beautiful, and Jonathan takes care of EVERYTHING.
I went to the Inn, too and it was gorgeous. I was actually trying to decide between them. The cocktail hour space (indoor especially) is so nice.
I've never been to a wedding at Danfords, but the restaurant food is really good.

inn at NHP is amazing!! would have been one of my top choices had it been in our price range. danfords is ... awkward... as the poster above said lol. if you're having a smaller wedding and ceremony off site it may work though. we almost booked waterview actually but didn't have a great experience with them and just didn't trust them to come through with anything. metropolitan i've never seen but the pics look beautiful!

My friend just recently got married at the inn and it was absolutely beautiful. There were lots of places to take pictures in the back so it's good if you don't want to go a park.

I haven't been to the Inn but I heard it is beautiful. How many guests are you planning on inviting?
