Hey Ladies.... haven't been on in a while. Looking for ideas of some venues that have either been recently renovated or are new that I didn't look when I was planning my wedding. This is for my BFF. I'm her MOH. Budget is a factor...
I've been to:
North Ritz ( which I loved but she doesn't want to copy me ..) Westbury Manor Inn at New Hyde Park Woodbury CC Crestwood Manor Larkfield Manor Fox Hollow Riviera Bridgeview Water View Club
I guess that's it.
Anyone have anything good/ bad to say about the Venetian in Babylon, Douglaston Manor and or Fox Hollow?

Re: Venues - for my Best friend!
Im getting married in Sept at Crest Hollow on a Sunday and the price was $90pp but it is high season. If i picked a friday night or even sunday later on in the fall the price went down..

What type of place is she looking for? Budget? Amount of people?
I've been to 3 of the places on your list. Hated one, was ehh about another, and liked the third but it was too small.

Re: Venues - for my Best friend!
I'm using the Venetian - I would definitely at least visit it. From what I read on the boards people either love it or hate it. I went looking at RHs with the idea that I wanted something a little different than the traditional ballroom. I thought the decor and set up of the venetian were unique and had a lot of character! So if you're looking for a big white ballroom - It might not be for you. Plus, I just love the view of the water. I'm getting married in March, which is off season, but they definitely worked with me and my budget!

Thanks ladies... I'll take her to those. I think she 's trying to be careful budget wise cuz she doesn't know how her dad will react to wedding prices. She's the only girl in the family.

It depends on how many people she thinks she is going to have. I thought Lombardi's on the Bay was really nice on the water but it only holds like 160 people. Fox Hollow is really nice, Jericho Terrace is also beautiful and reasonably priced. Floral Terrace in Floral Park, and Sandcastle in Franklin Square I obviously am biased towards but it is beautiful!

Windows on the Lake is a really pretty venue and they have VERY reasonable prices.
