I am not sure how to handle this situation. I have 2 couples that claimed they mailed their RSVP....but no cigar. another couple who said 'oh yeah we are coming we just have to mail it'. the RSVP date was Tuesday. I don't talk to any of them on a regular basis.
Do i just take their word for it & trust that they are coming????

Re: Verbal RSVPS
I would, but u might want to callthem again april first - and have it reiterated and ask for the rsvp back for inventory purposes - nothing done verbally is good

Re: Verbal RSVPS
I would take it for now as it is- then call back and ask them to mail it out if they haven't
We had one couple that claimed they did mail it out and we never got it to this day- or we lost it somehow

Re: Verbal RSVPS
Don't accept it!!! For both my brother and cousin's wedding this past year, the only people who didn't show were those who verbally RSVP'd. My cousin had 25 verbal RSVP's not show. Get it in writing somehow. Even if they shoot you an email. It's like if you don't have something in writing, they don't feel like they have made the commitment...JMO

Re: Verbal RSVPS
I didnt accept verbal RSVPs. Many people tried though. When they tried I just told them without the card I wont be able to put them down. When people give verbal RSVPs you have no way to know their really serious and then you risking paying for people who wont show.

Re: Verbal RSVPS
clarify it that they are going to come - request to the couple that didn't send back the rsvp to do so but inform all of them you are counting them as going to come.
I had 1 no rsvp's not come (didn't even call me but a week after the wedding sent us a VERY nice gift and the rsvp back w/ appology) and one rsvp that said yes didn't come and four verbal rsvp's that told us yes and did come.
