Verizon is jerking me around - UPDATE

I changed DH's name on the account. I called them, I gave them his SSN (which is required) and they changed it. Next thing I know I get an 'adjusted' bill from them where they took off a value plan I had on there from when I first got the phone account. So I called them and asked how that happened. They said 'your husband called and cahnged it'. Now I know he didn't - I mentioned it to him last night and he had no idea about why the bill was readjusted. They said 'when he called to change the account to his name he changed it'. I said 'no i called to change the name on the account'. They REFUSED to believe that I called to change the name on our phone bill. She actually had the gall to ask me if I called pretending to be him!! I said 'no, I called one day saying I'd like to change it and what did I need to do' the rep said we need his SSN. The next day I called with his SSN and it was done. We got a letter verifying it was changed. NO ONE - not me and not him - called to change the type of service we had. So obviously the girl that took his information 2 weeks ago screwed it up. But can they admit that? Course not.

THEN!!! She asks me for his cell phone number. I said 'why do you need it' and she said for verification purposes. So I gave it. She put me on hold. Then she comes back and starts to say something. At that moment my husband called me on my 2nd line. I put the Verizon lady on hold and he says 'Something funny is going on, someone saying she's from Verizon called me to ask if we could put the value plan back on the bill. She said she had you on the other line but because it's in my name I had to OK it.' (which he did).

But I was SO MAD that she called him and didn't tell me she was calling him. I mean - does she think I'm lying about it? And it's not the fact taht she called him - but SAY THAT!

He actually wasn't sure if he should tell her because we thought maybe it was a scam.

It just pisses me off because while I know they have to do things a certain way, and I'm ok with all that, no one said he had to call himself to give his SSN in the first place. And no one gave the authorization to take the plan off. And don't accuse me of impersonating him when I freakin' didn't!!!

What's that other company - IDD? IDT? Yeah guess what I'm switching to them. Cheaper and I bet they won't accuse me of falsifying inforamation.

That's a crazy story!

Meanwhile, I turned off my mother's phone service for her they didn't even verify that the I was authorized to disconnect the service. I had any information I needed like her full account number and her SS# but they didn't even ask!

Do I called back today to complain (which I hate doing but I just felt that the person I talked to last night was so rude) and make sure that the regional plan was put back on the account.

I got the NICEST person on the phone. Not even a supervisor.

I asked her again why the plan was taken off.
She explained to me what happened. With the switching of the names, they stopped my account and started a new account in DH's name. We pay for the regional calling plan a month ahead, which was why I got a 2nd bill crediting my account the amount of the plan for August since I terminated/switched the account on Aug 2nd. They will prorate the regional calling plan on the new bill which is the new account and in DH's name.

OK! That makes much more sense! And is TOTALLY not what I was told yesterday!

The rep today also said that whenever someone calls about their account they have to input a record of the person calling in their computer. She said no one input that I called at all yesterday at all. And that it didn't even say that anyone terminated the regional calling plan to begin with. So why I was told that yesterday is a mystery.

Sounds like the idiot I talked to yesterday is just answering the phones, telling customers whatever she feels like, and not putting it in the computer so she can't be found out, and then also lying saying her supervisor is next to her (well I can't say I know that for sure but considering everything else was untrue I bet that part is too). I wish I got her name when I called yesterday.

So the nice lady said that she'll tell her supervisor what happened to me and maybe they can figure out who I talked to yesterday. She couldn't believe that I was treated like that. She said perhaps they can figure out who it was by seeing if there's a record of when that other rep called DH on his cell phone yesterday.Would be interesting to find out if they can and why the hell that lady said what she said!
