Vertically challenged Brides!

I am only 5'2'' which I never thought was a huge deal...but this weekend we had a bacheloreete party and bridal shower for a friends upcoming wedding...well I got the pics back from the weekend and realized how much shorter than everyone I am !! I couldn't believe the difference in pictures! I am def the shortest of my group of friends (and BM's). I bought my shoes for the wedding with a low heal (only 2'') because I wanted to be comfortable from getting ready at 11am to the end of the reception at 10pm. Now that i saw these pictures I am really worried that I should get higher heels. Fh is 5'11'' but that doesn't bother me if hes much taller...I just feel like a midget next to my Bm's. I think they range from 5'5'' and up...what should I do?? Should I get higher heels before I start to get fitted for my dress or should I just say screw it and who cares if I look so short?? Thanks for listening!

I'm 5'1 and I got a low heel, I would rather be comfortable, but my FH is only 5'8 and the BMs are my height. My friend got 6 inch platforms from peter fox for her wedding...She said they were comfortable..if your used to wearing shoes that high then do it but remember you are going to be on your feet ALL day

I'm 5'1, so I feel your pain - also one of the shortest of my friends, but one of my BMs is my height. I think you should stick with the lower heel, if you want to be comfortable. In the wedding pictures, you will be the bride, and your dress and beauty will take over the height!!!!!!!

Ok I can beat you all I am 4'10' oh and a 1/4....hehehe that matters when your this little. My FH is 5'11' and my BM's are pretty tall and I am wearing low heels. I wanted to be comfortable.

I am 5 feet tall too and DH is 5'10', but I wore 1 inch heals to be comfortable and everything was great!

5' even here too!!
Luckily most of my bm's are small except for one She is about 5' 11'. All the others are in my height range. They are between 4'10' (my sis) and 5'4'.

I am 5'10', FH is 6'1' !!
Anyway, I say wear whatever makes you comfortable. I of course am looking for a super low heel like 1 1/2 inch to 2 inches tops.
You can also wear higher heels and change into bridal slippers/sneakers for the reception, this is what I will be doing. I want to be comfortable when I dance all night!
David's Bridal has really nice ballet type wedding slippers.

i am only 4'11 ( and 3/4) . My fiance is 6'1. All of my BM are taller, but I don't really care. There is nothing we can do. Maybe if you stand in front of them a little it may help. I wouldn't worry about it too much!

Don't feel bad ladies. I am 5 feet 2 inches and my FH is 6 feet 5. Only one of my 5 bridesmaids are my height. Not even a HIGH, HIGH heel will help my situation. Oh well, I'll pick comfort over misery (especially on my most important day) every time. I intend to enjoy every minute despite my inability to 'measure up.' No worries

I'm 5'2' and FH is 6'3'!! My BMs range in height from me to FH! I plan on getting comfy shoes - you're going to be on your feet ALL DAY, not to mention dancing, etc!

I think you'll be fine - don't sweat the small stuff! (sorry, couldn't resist! )

My old roommate is 5' even and doesn't wear high heels at all. I (her MOH) am 5'8' and her FI is 6'1'. All her BM were around 5'4' or so. And like you her shower pictures and bachelorette pictures looked so funny. She was the tiny one in the middle.

The wedding pictures were sooo diffeerent. The photographer did a wonderful job..he new how to deal with this. Pretty much in every picture with the girls or bride, her sat me down so you wouldn't see my huge height difference. When we took the whole bridal party pic's, he stood me with the guys at one point. He took a lot of sitting pictures, hugging pictures, picturs on angles. You hardly ever saw the diffence.

I wouldn't worry about it. Get heels that you are comfortabe in. Your pictures will be beautiful.

I have the same problem but Im the only tall person in the group. All my friends are about 5'2' and Im 5'8' so I look like a giant next to my girls. Oh well...what can you do?

wow! a lot of half pints! I am 5'2'.....almost I am wearing a 2' heel. My FH is 6'. We are used to the whole height thing. My two BMS's are my sisters - both 5', and one is his sister 6'! What can you do...don't worry about it. Everybody is us3ed to seeing you be short! It's just YOU who saw it for the first time!!!!

I am 5'1 and my FH is 6'4. My sister is 5'10 and so are both of my FH's sisters. But I don't care. My heels are 2 1/2 inches. My sister is going to wear a 1 3/4 ich heel. I am shorter than everyone else, so I am sure the photos will show that. It is okay with me though.

Can I jump in!?! Only thing is I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I'll be the tallest one (6'1' w/o heels) in the whole wedding party. My FH stands at 5'10' and most of my bridesmaids are around 5'2'. The groomsmen are all around 5'9'.

As usual, my head is above the 'crowd'. These photos should be interesting. And people wonder why I slouch!

I'm 5'1 FH is 6'0 and BM's are all over 5'5.

I'm wearing low heels for comfort. I don't mind...I actually like being short to be honest with you!!

IM 5'4 and FH is 6'4, my bridesmaides are about my height except for my cousin who is 5'10. I am wearing a 3 inch heel. I've been wearing them around the house so I can break them in.

Just to agree with the rest- I am not quite 5'1'' and will be going with a low heel- i'd rather have shoes I will wear all night. Besides, everyone knows how short I am!
