Soooo ladies this Saturday FH and I have an appointment for Variety Music and the Sunday we have an appointment with Party Connections and Lighthouse photography. I am hoping I end the weekend with a photographer and DJ booked and ready to go! I only have a year and 8 days and I am totally slacking, so far i have the Church and the RH but that's it. How many DJs/ Photographers did you girls meet with before making a decision?

met with one dj and two photographers. but that was after researching a bunch of them, reviewing their work online, and reading reviews from liweddings.com
and by the way, one year and 8 days isnt slacking. many people plan their whole affair in under a year or even under 6 months (i dont know how they do it though! lol!)

ETA: Being we have a baby it was hard to actually go places & sit & meet with people. I emailed & called places, if I didn't like what they had to say over the phone 'i'd get back to them' I met with DJ's & photographers at a few showcases. So I had my ideas already. I'm all about reviews, I google the vendors name & find anything & everything I can find!!! lol

Girl we got engaged on Christmas eve and our wedding is Sunday you are def not slacking, if I can do it in 3 months you have AMPLE time!

we looked at 5 djs and compared prices and did our research.. we couldn't find anything (reviews or people who already used them for weddings) on party connection and his price is unbeatable but were told to be careful with them so we decided to forget about them even though hes recommended by our hall.
we looked at a 3 photographers prices but booked glenmar (our first photographer to meet in person) on the spot because i fell in love with them.

we booked with Variety. They were the 2nd DJ we met with they really worked with us on budget and Ray really listened when we explained the type of feeling we wanted the music to convey. the other DJ we met with kept saying things like 'oh its a long island wedding you gotta have alot of the techno party music' even though we must of said 6x we dont want a fist pumping jersey shore feel to the wedding. my advice is to meet with as many vendors as it takes till you find someone that actually listens to what YOU want. i've come across so many vendors who say 'you have to have it this way' or 'you have to have it that way thats how its typically done blah blah blah' but NO im paying for it so i'll have it my way thankyouverymuch lol

Who told you to be careful with them.. your RH? I had a difficult time with searching some reviews for them but he told us we could call some past customers of theirs & see what they said.

We met with 5 DJs and went to 3 different DJ showcases. My FH wanted to kill me but then we finally decided on Variety DJ. So happy we found them!!! :) and photography we met with 4 places and choose Sherwood Triart.

I only met with 1 DJ.....we knew who we wanted..we met with 3 photographers...booked Patken on the spot but also loved imagine studios but they were expensive...
