So I just read in The Girlfriend's Guide to a Baby's First Year (or something like that) that the milk does not come from the nipple tip, but from the perimeter? Does that mean the areola? I am very confused, and also shocked that I never heard of this before.
ETA:
Just read that there are tiny pores on the nipple itself, and it is from these mutiple pores that the milk comes.
OK, Now I feel really silly!!

Re: Very Personal BF question
that is correct. when I saw my aunt breastfeed that is when I noticed this, I thought it was like peeing, but yes when a breastfeeding mother squeezes her breast you see the milk coming out through the multiple pores around the breast.
