Very sad

Very sad

I know this is a very sad day for everyone and I am just feeling really overwhelmed with sorrow. In addition to the pain I am feeling for my friends who died 2 years ago, I am also sad because I may have to give up my puppy. I know that sounds inconsequential on a day like today, but I am just so heartbroken. I posted a few days ago about her with some pics, but my allergies have been getting worse each day, it seems, and I am having trouble breathing. I don't know what to do. I love her so much already, I feel like she is a part of our family.

Thanks for listening.

Re: Very sad

She's a schnoodle (schnauzer/poodle). Here is my earlier thread . I just can't tell HOW bad my allergies really are. The first day I was ok, but it seems to have gotten worse as time goes by. I'm not sneezing or wheezing and my eyes aren't itchy. The only thing is that my chest is tight and I am having a bit labored breathing. I don't know, though, if there might be other reasons. I think I may be coming down with a cold, which may or may not be unrelated PLUS I've had no sleep this week AND it's my TOM. So I'm having trouble figuring out if this is entirely puppy-related or not. I REALLY REALLY don't want to have to bring her back, but I am afraid my health may be at 85% or less for the next 10-15 years if I don't. I don't know WHAT to do, but I am very grateful for all your hugs and support.

Re: Very sad

When we got our two cats last year DH was also severely alergic, but they only lasted a week or two, and now he is 100% fine. I have heard of many people developing an imunity to pet alergies, sort of like a vaccination I guess. In anycase, I'm hoping you'll get better

Re: Very sad

I grew up with pets and was never allergic. Then when I got my own cat (a black one - which I hear tend to cause allergies more) I sneezed and was stuffed up like crazy! I thought I would have to get rid of him, but after a week or two, I was fine! perhaps you're just in the breaking in period. A doctor would know more on the subject, I'm sure - maybe give your doc a call?

I hope everything works out!!

Re: Very sad

That's a good idea, only I don't have a doctor right now. My primary care left her practice and I haven't found someone new yet. But if anyone knows of any doctors I could call who would be amenable to even just giving me an over-the-phone opinion, please let me know!!

do yourself a favor get rid of the doggy and pic up a nice fishtank, they stay in one place, they dont need to ba walked and their food is really cheap.
