So, getting married in about a year. and in the next year I have to finish planning my wedding, and we want to buy a house. I just feel like there isn't enough time or money to do everything all at once, so yea, i'm stressed!!!!!

First, We are buying the House... That is why i dont have a 100% Date... =) I am excited to be looking for houses!!!
FH & I know it will be TOO Hectic trying to Buy a House and Planning a Weddding... That is why WE decided to FIRST Get the House... Once we got the house.... We will get married =)

buying a house and planning a wedding is really stressful. Its a long process of looking, inspecting, applying for mortgages, homeowners ins..lots of stuff.
Truthfully yes, its more responsible to own a house than to plan a wedding but a wedding is more fun lol.
Ive owned my house for years and I find that owning the house while planning a wedding is super stressful as well. A house comes with so many more expenses than an apt.
But, if you feel you can afford it, go for it.
And we all understand. There's never enough money!

I should have mentioned we're having a very small wedding. 60 people at the most. so the wedding itself is really not the financial part of the issue. my parents are paying for the reception and helping with other stuff. I'm just stressed with doing both at the same time lol

I am also having a Small wedding... with tops 60 ppl... $$$ is important part to us since we are paying for everythign!!!1
So we are def. stress out trying to save for both at the same time...

awww i know how stress this gets.. try and just take one day @ a time.. anything can happen btwn now and next year... try and enjoy both events as much as you can !! i have tried my best not to think about the $$ because I know it will all be worth it in the end

Sounds like me too.
Our wedding is a year away. We're paying for it ourselves. Wanted it to be small but FH had different plans for that. So it's pretty expensive. I'm working 2 jobs that are full of deadlines and on top of it all, my FH is selling the house he owns with his brother (we live here together) and until this sells, we can't look for our own house!
I know we'll be buying a house, but it's based on selling this house. Stress is an understatement!!!!!!!!
Hoping this sells BEFORE we get too close to our wedding because the thought of looking for a house, moving and fixing it - all within the same few months of my wedding will drive me insane!
So I feel ya.

Yea. We are also looking for a house. It's just hard when I keep getting excessed every year from my job. We seriously have no money to buy a house, nor rent an apartment. So I don't know what we are gonna do. All I have to do is keep praying I get a job. There is one I really want and i'm gonna do everything in my power to get it. But there are also 1000 other people out there who want the same job.

I totally understand what you mean - I'm graduating from law school in May so we're only getting a house if I can get a job right away making more than $50K.

Not worth stressing out. People forget you don't have to spend alot of money to have a gorgeous wedding. It is the two people that make the wedding beautiful!!!

We are taking things one step at a time. I wish we could even think of getting a house. But we decided to focus on the wedding first, make it the best we possibly could, and then save just as aggressively the first year we are married. I joke that we will be living in a cardboard box, but at least we will be together.
