Very Upset at Dad and Stepmother ( VERY, Very long)

Every year as usual I help out with the decorating. I trim the trim, I help my father put the lights up on the house, I decorate the rest of the house. This year I even wrapped all of the gifts because both my Dad and Step mother were very sick this last week.
For the eve I help set up, serve, and clean up.
Well on Christmas eve when we are handing out gifts my btother gets a gift, my two step brothers get a gift, my brothers girlfriend gets a gift, and my DH gets a gift . Nothing for me.
There was a lot of confusion with my whole family there so I really didn't notice I didn't get one from them till my DH and Aunt asked me what got from them and I said I don't know I don't think I got anything yet.
The night was over, all the gifts were handed out I was running around picking up wrapping paper, cups and it hit me that they forgot about me.
I went home crying. All the hard work and help I give them ever year, but especially this year while my brother and step brothers just sit around and just watch as usual and I got nothing. I was so upset and DH was furious. My christmas was just not the same after that.
Sorry to vent but I was so hurt and upset and I just needed to let it out to someone other than my poor DH.

Did you say something to your dad and stepmom? I am SURE it was an oversight and they would be horrified if you told them. I know it still hurts, but maybe they still needed to get your gift, but were sick and just forgot or didn't get a chance to. This happened to my cousin this year. My grandfather painted a picture for EVERY single granchild, which is a lot, but he forgot about my cousin, just because there's so many of us and it's easy to lose count, and he felt awful when he realized. Hang in there, I'm sorry that happened. I really hope you say something to them so hopefull it can be rectified. Hey, maybe they'll feel bad and give ya a little extra? Just kidding. It never feels good to feel unappreciated, but I'm sure it was just an oversight.

I was so upset and angry that I din't know how to ask them with out sounding like a little kid. Does that make sense or is it just me?

No, I can understand why you would feel funny asking, but I guess I woudl WANT to know if someone got overlooked. So I really do think you need to say something. Or else they may think you are not thanking them for what they THINK they gave you.

No. I guess they just know I will be the one to help out and do these things for them.

I am sure it has to have gotten lost in the confusion of the day! Ask about it...I just can't believe they intentionally didn't get you one!

I am sure they had to get you something maybe it was on order and they didn't get it in yet! I hope things work out and you get your gift ,you deserve it after the Hard work you did.lots of hugs.
