Viana hotel after party

My fiance and I are deciding on a hotel to block rooms with. We're leaning toward the Viana in Westbury and are considering renting a small meeting room and having an after party there. Anyone else do this or have any experience with Viana?

We are staying there the day after you! lol.. our wedding is the 25th, and we didn't book a separate room because they keep the bar open until 4am on holiday weekends :)The bar is usually open until 2 and then they charge you extra to keep it open later, but on holiday weekends it's open till late for free

The bar area is nice with that pool room connected to it, so I don't think you'll need to rent anything separate for an after party

We were looking into it b/c we may have a group of 20-30 people and the bar is public to all people staying, so not sure if that would be too crowded? The sales person said they'd get back to me soon - just looking at options.

We had our after party there, but we didn't rent out another space. We just had it open until 4am. Our reception ended a 12 so we got there anywhere from 1230-100. I knew of another wedding there, but there was still plenty of room at the bar. We ended up hanging out in the game room all night by ourselves. We plugged in an iPod, played games, and had a great time.

I agree that you don't need a separate room. There aren't that many hotel guests that will stay at the bar that late so even if it is crowded at first they will trickle out shortly. The bar is bigger than it looks, a few of my guests found their way into the board room behind the bar so with that and the game room you really have plenty of room.

My FH & I just went this weekend to block some rooms at Viana Hotel for our wedding next year. The Staff there is really nice and hotel rooms looks nice! We got a tour of the hotel and saw (2) suites and the standard room.
